Filthy property
This place is a total dump. First the clerk had been smoking weed right before we arrived. I almost had a contact high from the smell. The rooms is filthy. Stains on curtains floors walls. We asked to switch rooms which they did. Wasn’t much better. It is a very old property with nothing upgraded. Faucets from 1970s. Just so smelly. Don’t stay here. Personally I want a refund.

“Last hotel on the harbor, last choice as well”
Upon arrival outside was appealing but the parking lot very much so lacked lighting at night. After checking in at the front desk which was a good experience. We headed to the single elevator which made quite the racket while inside giving us a bit of uneasy feeling. We then headed to our room which at first glance was well kept. Once we turned on the lights though we then saw large Cob webs in nearly every corner in the room with insects trapped inside. The bedding also had women’s red lipstick on it. The bathroom also had quite a bit of long hair on the toilet and sink. The walls of the rooms are also paper thin so you will hear everything in the halls and nearby rooms. Overall if want a sub par clean room and full knowledge of your neighbors activities this is the place for you.

Oldie but Goodie
The hotel’s age is evident and as it’s going to be torn down next fall, I don’t think much maintenance is going on. However, the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful…Shannon especially!!

Definitely NOT going back
The place was a total catfish. When we arrived, there was food spilled all over the floor and someone was trying to get another person to leave their dog with them (a stranger). We stood at the counter for about 15+ minutes while this was happening and tried to stay out of the way. No one was at the front. After 15 mins we tried calling to see if the phone might alert someone, but it just rang and rang. After another 10 mins, and more "long term guests" arguing in the entryway, someone came from the room behind and it was apparent they were just sitting around trying to avoid the guests. They checked us in and we went up to our room. The room was pretty gross. Stains all over the carpeting and poorly layered paint everywhere. The door barely closed. The cable didn't work and when we tried to fix it the TV stopped working (kept giving errors). When we tried to just watch something on our laptop the internet had no connection or link. We tried to call the front desk for help and realized the phone in the room was disconnected. We sat on the bed for a minute and looked around and were so uncomfortable we just left and found another hotel at 10pm. No one was at the desk when we tried to leave so we just left the key at the front counter.

Great location and very affordable
Is a great place to stay. It’s a great location and it’s quiet. They have a nice pool and a hot tub and it’s right on the harbor so it’s so nice to walk there. It’s also within walking distance to downtown Dana Point and the restaurants and shops there. I was told that they were going to tear it down in September so now is the time to get a great deal on a hotel in that area

Nice Hotel!
Stayed here for a couple's New Year's Eve retreat for the holiday. It's a nice property very close to the Marina and all the shops and Restaurants are within walking distance. The Hotels was clean. Staff was friendly. Parking is an additional fee but not as bad as some places. Looks like nearly all the rooms have a balcony equipped with a couple of chairs. Biggest advantage of this Dana Point Marina Inn, the location and price!
