This hotel was a mixed bag for me. While I was on the shinkansen to Kumamato, I rec'd an email from the hotel informing me that if I did not arrive by 9pm, the front desk staff would be gone and I would not be able to stay there, even though my room was prepaid. WTH?
The front desk is also closed several hours during the day, so if you need a taxi or have questions about anything, you're out of luck.
I found a few v small black insects in my bathroom. Not cool.
The location is a mixed bag too -- being only two stops away from the train station is a bonus, but the immediate neighborhood of the hotel is odd. There's nothing around it, not even a convenience store.
ood points: the onsen is nice, ditto for the laundry, and the choice of pillows in the lobby is a great touch. The staff was helpful during the brief hours they were on duty.
The breakfast is good too.
