    Stopover

First of all, all of the staff here were great and we're very helpful. We ate in the pub and enjoyed the meal and had we had more time, I think we'd have spent more time in the bar. We stayed in Room 4, which is clearly an old room in what is a very old inn (16th century). The room is fine - whilst the floor is a bit uneven, the bed was comfy and there are tea/coffee facilities. The decor is dated but the room seemed to be clean. The bathroom isn't great - the toilet barely flushes, the shower takes ages to heat and then you have to only put a small amount of cold on otherwise it disappears. Its also a low ceiling so if you're over 5ft 9 then watch your head! All in all this was fine for a stopover and I believe there are some more modern rooms in the hotel, but we probably wouldn't stop again.

    Perfect for my needs.

Friendly staff, good Ale in the pub and the food was better that ok too. An excellent Cooked breakfast after a really good nights sleep on a comfy bed made for a great start for the day...a terrific stop on a long drive down from Scotland...Nice village and even a pleasant walk down the lanes just outside..and for the £80ish I paid, a real bargain. Dont expect 5*, its firmly 3* But excellent nevertheless.

    Pleasant stay

The Inn is right next to a farm where the sheeps welcome you when you arrive. Although it is a 3-star inn it is clean and spacious. Like the environment as well, quiet and nice.

Booked in here for a night whilst doing a motorbike tour of the Lake District. Very welcoming staff and easy check in, great food with real ale after a long days riding was a real bonus. Thank you…
