"The staff at this hotel was really nice and very helpful. The bar closed at 10 am, very early, but the bar tender helped us anyway which we really appreciated. The hotel itself was very clean and had a great view. My issue was the neighborhood, which is not the fault of the hotel. Lot of homeless around it. At night we ubered back to the hotel so we were not walking. Surprised us but of course Toronto is a major city."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Toronto

  1. Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Toronto in January, February, or December is an affordable option on a budget, as hotel prices may drop during these months. For a great value for money experience, plan to stay for at least 3 to 4 days, which is ideal for exploring the city's key landmarks, history, and culture. Highlights include its renowned theatre scene, urban architecture, museums, entertainment venues, art galleries, shopping districts, skyscrapers, university environments, and diverse dining options. This budget-friendly approach allows visitors to enjoy Toronto's rich heritage and vibrant cultural landscape without breaking the bank.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Hotels.com offers enticing DealsOpens in a new window which may include discounted stays in Toronto, while the Last-Minute Deals section lets you discover opportunities if you book close to your travel date. By enabling alerts, you could find flash sales and last-minute promotions in real-time. Moreover, the Smart Shopping tool on the app is a handy comparison tool that helps you compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re more likely to see the best available offers for your trip.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Thus, being flexible with your travel dates could help you find a more favourable rate for your stay in a Toronto hotel. If you're in search of something distinctive, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your selected dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we can suggest alternative dates that might help you find a more appealing rate.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Toronto's excellent public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further afield that remains well-connected. For those interested in exploring alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there’s often great value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
