Close to Tainan station which is excellent. Breakfast buffet has a lot of varieties. Close to bus station which is the main tranaportatiin mode in Tainan. There is no subway. Even though it is over 60 years old it is still well kept.

needs remodeling of rooms
the hotel was clean and maintained well but it was quite old and needed remodeling of rooms. more sockets for electronic devices and also it was quite cold and the temperature could not be adjusted in the room itself, however the front personnel told me as I was checking out that had I inquired that they would have turned on the heater... I don't know how you could turn on the heater for just one room but....

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, even gave advice on where to visit in Tainan. They gave me a free upgrade, and the room was very clean and comfortable. Slight, constant noise like water boiling throughout my stay, but you tune it out if you don't pay attention to it

Great staff - everyone very helpful, to getting us taxis, answering questions, etc. They helped us find a taxi to take us to see the black-faced spoonbills at a nature reserve on the coast. Plus, they spoke great English! The rooms were nice, too, though the furnishings were a little dated. The bathrooms were completely renovated, with great tubs and showers (we had two rooms).
