8/10 Very good
3 September 2018
This is a family-owned hotel built in 1984 and probably little-changed since then. A friendly welcome, allowed to choose our room.
There is a large salt-water swimming pool, and it and the hotel and grounds are very well maintained.
Efthalou is very quiet but within easy reach of the cosmopolitan Molyvos, but your own transport is highly recommended.
Across the road is a pebble beach, and within walking distance just past the thermal baths are a further five or so bays, where you can have a huge amount of space and great privacy. No facilities there other than a good taverna at the beginning of the bays. A great place to enjoy a drink at sunset.
Breakfasts are perhaps not the strong point of the hotel: but given the level of comfort, privacy and setting, if you want a very peaceful and private time this hotel represents outstanding value for money. Having originally booked to stay for three days, we extended to six.
The local taverna, To Eftalou, is 100 metres away, very pretty, and the food is excellent.
