We arrived to find there was an issue with our booking - it was not Bicheno's Ocean View Retreat's fault at all. The staff were very accommodating and they did everything they could to rectify the problem ASAP. They went over and above what they had to do and we were extremely happy with our stay. Their own staff offered to make 2 trips into the town centre to take us in to a festival and then picked us up again at the end of the festival and took us back to the Retreat. Now that is service and you won't find that everywhere!! And as an added bonus, they offered to cook us a huge delicious breakfast and delivered it to our room! The views are spectacular, the unit (No. 1) was spotless and the staff are so friendly and professional. Yes - I would definitely recommend and we will be back to stay again.

Bad service
Drove 3 hrs to get there only to be told something went wrong with Expedia´s website when I made the booking so someone else´s booking overrided mine. Was told by Sarah there weren´t any rooms left and to book elsewhere. She said to call Expedia to get refund, which I did - three times and filled out the complaint form twice! Rang Expedia for 4th time and was told hotel is not responding to their calls or emails. Geez, thanks Sarah for making this experience even worse! I remember you saying that Mike, the manager, knew about what happened too, so why is it so difficult to get a refund?! Pathetic service

Roomy, beautiful view, good facilities
Only stayed one night on our coastal drive to Launceston. Booking in was hassle free, accommodation was excellent. Site would be suitable for a longer stay with personal laundry facilities and a well equipped kitchen.

Disappointing stay dated accommodation
Lovely location overlooking bay but accommodation and furnishings are dated and badly in need of replacement and modernisation. Carpets clean but worn with some stains in living room. Ants on dining table on second day. Overall not what I had expected for the price paid. My sister in law and her daughter stayed at the apartment next to us but they were very unhappy about the condition of their accommodation which was not as clean as ours and most of the cooking equipment seemed much older. They complained about a lingering smell from the oven and ants in the bedroom and living area. The manager was advised of our complaints on departure but had little to say other than that he would report our comments to another colleague who might consider some refund yet to be received.
