Although the rooms have been renovated according to the staff, there was the smell of mold or mildew in the room. If you're sensitive to this, then it could be an issue. Avoid the lower level (below grade) in the second building since they say the smell can be worse on that level. We were in a "superior" room on the first level above ground though and it was still noticeable. Not sure how it would be in the main building.
Otherwise, the staff was terrific, helpful and made very good restaurant recommendations. (We really enjoyed the food at both "Loods" and "De Duyf") The hotel's dining room and the pub were very nice. And the breakfast was good. Nice place to stay. Location: about a 20 minute walk to town. Or it's a €5 taxi ride. Bikes can be rented in town and kept in front of the hotel in a large bike rack.
