Wonderful experience! A stately & historical large ryokan nested on the eastern hill slope of Gero town. My second stay at this ryokan & will continue to stay there next time I am in Gero. Very good vista of the town in the morning or evening. Very large garden & landscape, with tall tress & seasonal flower trees.or bushes.. a beautiful & varied feast for the eyes & senses if one come at different seasons... Has its own hotel museum to showcase it's checkered history & early artifacts, etc. just like many other ryokans with a long historical tradition.
Onsen water is alkaline typical of Gero & has that silky smooth feel. Food & service is good as expected.
If one is in Gero, this is a ryokan that one should stay at least one night to experience Gero ambiance..
Amazing experience. Excellent service. Free shuttle to the hotel upon arrival and departure. Breakfast and dinner included were delicious. Facilities were well maintained. Enjoyed a very relaxing vacation. Can't wait to visit again.
