Fantastic introduction to Siena
Shared terrrace in property has magnificent views and layout of property gave opportunity to meet other travellers. Our room also had a fantastic view of the Torre del Mangia which could be reached with a walk of a few minutes. The property was an integral part of the old city in Siena and is very close to the Catherdral, Piazza del Campo and many restaurants, bars and shops. The property is in a shared building on the fifth floor but the pay off is the views. However although no lift there is a pulley system for large items of luggage. There were communal kitchen and dining facilities in the property which we would have used in the event of a longer stay. A refreshing alternative to chain hotels

Lovely room...downside was sharing
The room was lovely with a fan provided. The communal area was good with a balcony with views over Siena but we were sharing with 4 other rooms of guests. One pair were playing their music very loudly while taking over the communal area for most of the day... If it hadn't been for them, it would have been a great experience.

We arrived at the door of this hotel that was locked and no signs on how to get in. I had to turn my cellular on to call. A women answered and appeared to be clueless of our arrival. She told us to come back at 3:30 (we arrived at noon). I informed her that we had luggage and did not want to drag them around Siena for 3 1/2 hours. She reluctantly gave us the code to get in, and told us we could place our bags inside. Upon entering, it was a dark empty hallway leading to stairs. Again, no signs. We placed our luggage in a a creepy dark closet and prayed it would be there when we returned. We arrived back at 3:30 expecting to be met by someone. No one was there. Once again I had to turn my cellular back on and call. I was told there was an office on the 5th floor (why was I not told there was an office to store our bags in?). We had to carry our luggage up 5 flights of stairs to the office. Then carry our luggage another 2 flights to our room. I requested two beds, and received just one. I thought we were going to get breakfast but was told that was additional. Also, there is NO air conditioning! I will say the room was clean, had a good location and the view was incredible! When we went to check out, no one was in the office to receive the key (yes, an actually key). I ended up asking someone next door to turn it in for us. Overall, not a good stay. NO service! But, I'm giving it an overall 3 stars because of the location and the view.

A very modern, clean, central B&B.
Simone made us welcome, explained the high lites of Siena, and showed he beautiful and spacious room right off the large community kitchen. We used the kitchen for snacks and meals and dined on the balcony overlooking the towns rooftops, spires and hilly countryside.

Too Many Stairs to Climb
I didn't notice when I booked the place that I had to call ahead to arrange the time to arrive. Since I was going without any real plans, I had to call the owner when I arrived. Having said that, she was there and made sure to give me a key, even though I couldn't check in at that time because the room was not ready. The owner was very kind and very helpful. The main downside in my opinion is the fact that it is four floors up, and there is no elevator. There is a steel cable that can pull up the luggage, but it was still not the best location. I am young (32), but it was still a lot of stairs to climb with luggage (when I arrived I did not know there was a cable to pull up the luggage).

A Gem in The Sky
I was pleasantly surprised by this little gem of a hotel. Beautiful views, fair size room and a great communal kitchen.

Nice place, but on the 7th floor...
This is a bedroom in what was likely 2 apartments made into a "hotel". Therefore it has a common area shared (including kitchen) with 2 other rooms, and a similar layout on the floor above. IT WAS ON THE 6th OR 7th FLOOR WITH NO ELEVATOR! They did have a winch to raise luggage, but did not mention it to us. There is no sign outside, and the lower floors are small private offices. Nice new soundproof windows. IF none of the above sounds like a negative to you, this is a nice place!

Nice hotel to stay in Siena.
Great location. Rooms are big and nice. View from the balcony is amazing. Staff is friendly and helpful. The ONLY thing is missing is air conditioner in the room.

Lots of Steps
Great location in the city center; nice, large room with common area including kitchen and balcony. No A/C, but could open windows. However, there's a noisy bar nearby, which is open late for the young crowd. Our room was on the sixth floor - lots of steps and no elevator. We sure got a work out. Fortunately, they had a motorized hoist for luggage.

The hotel is in great location. The hosts were very helpful and provided the top quality of service. Rooms were very clean. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit.

Sleepless in Siena
Pros: close to Palazzo Publico, washing machine in room, spacious apartment, comfortable Cons: no sleep (club downstairs and sound carries as though the club is in the living room), 6 flights of stairs with bags to checks in, not close to bus station/stops, odd policy to pay- when we checked in they asked for payment, but didn't know how to work their own credit card machine, so they told us we could pay at checkout and maybe bring cash. One day into our two day stay, they ring the doorbell. We were getting ready to go out so we were slow to answer the doorbell and they let themselves in...this was quite odd because there is apparently no housekeeping - fine in an apartment style b&b. She looked startled we were there and told us that she had come to ask for us to pay -now. I'm not sure what her plan was...collect the payment from our things without us there or best case leave us a note...even though there was no pen or paper anyway. It was quite bizarre. Both the demand for payment in the middle or our stay and the entry.

Sleepless in Pisa
The apartment style is great for space, and the washing machine and kitchen were awesome. However, do not stay here if you plan to sleep during your stay in Pisa. There is an insanely loud club just below, and people stand and talk/yell outside until 3-4 am. It sounds like they're standing in the bedroom with you. We were exhausted when we arrived and normally sleep very easily, even with some noise, but we did not sleep for two nights here. To be fair, we stayed on a Thursday and Friday night. We don't know about the rest of the week. However, if you plan on staying out all night, this is the place for you.

what a great choice

Excellent stay in Siena
I loved it! It was clean and coming from Florence I just wanted somewhere to relax. The views from the terrace were amazing and it was very central without being noisy. There was a shared kitchen with all supplies and even a washing machine. The only thing is that it has no elevator and is on the 4th and 5th floors so if you have a lot of luggage (I didn't) it might be a problem. The staff was very friendly!

Great location for touring, but not easy to find
It was just seconds away from town center and all the shopping/food - what a fantastic location. However, it's very hard to get to/find. It's not marked with an overhead sign - we ended up finding a parking spot and walking up and down the block...do this when bringing your bags...the streets closest to city center are very narrow (a car CAN get through, it's just not easy). You have limited time to park in the restricted zone - we parked in the Piazza Giacomo Matteotti and brought our bags down. The hotel will direct you to the closest free parking - it's not super close, but it's a nice, manageable walk. The hotel is on the top floor with no elevator. You have to pay extra for breakfast - do it, it's delicious. We got a private room/private bath - the room was HUGE. No AC, though - it was fine in October though. Staff is super friendly and helpful.

Beautiful hotel in heart of Siena
This was such a beautiful place and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very close to the main square, Piazza Campo, I believe. Other than the lack of parking (which is not the hotels fault, there is just no parking in the city center) this place was great. We wish we could have stayed longer. Beautiful views from a large terrace. Shared Kitchen area was very nice. The staff were great and very polite. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we had the whole time in Italy. I highly recommend this place and I hope I will be back sometime.

Well located
This apartment is ideally located downtown Siena. It is not an hotel and you should not expect any services. The very nice owners are on location in the late afternoon for the check in, that's it. It was a bit noisy since there is no door between the common kitchen and the rooms upstairs, and the walls with the neighbouring room are thin.

Great views
Really nice apartment. It's shared, but if that isn't an issue for you then it's fine. Plenty of room; really nice views from the balcony, great for sitting back with a bottle of chianti.

Great location
My husband and I decided last minute to take a side trip from Florence to Siena while in Italy. The hotel and service as well as the location were great!! The hotel manager spoke English very well. The hotel is on th 5th-6th floor, so as long as you can do the steps, it is very worthwhile!! We are so thrilled that we got to see fabulous Siena and found this nice hotel!!

Nice Location and Rooms, no 24hr reception desk
Nice big rooms, its a shared apartment not a typical hotel but still fairly nice. Located right in the centre of the town. Very important fact to keep in mind is the check in time, its around 3pm. Get there any time before that and you will be stuck in the street!

The best staff
We spent 2 weeks in Italy and this was the best hotel we stayed in. When we got there they upgraded us to a suite with a small balcony on the Grand Canal. Because we stayed 3 nights they also gave us a free trip out to the island of Murano. When you check in you will see behind the desk the awards that this hotel staff has won for service. They were so helpful and gave us such good practical advice on everything we asked them about. Wow! I
