QT Newcastle
"It's a lovely hotel, likely the best in Newcastle. Rooms are a bit on the small side and there are few amenities within the building. But staff was super helpful and the breakfast was delicious."
Little National Hotel Newcastle
"Gorgeous and luxurious hotel - great location - will recommend!"
NOAH'S On The Beach
"The property is dated but incredible location"
Squid Ink Motel
"Room is clean, staff friendly. However, the mattress is not that comfortable. The wall between rooms are thin. The next door young couples made loud noise, terrible. The room's fridge is loud too, power on and off the whole night. Backyard does have a nice lake view."
Crystalbrook Kingsley
"Perfect position for our reason to visit the art gallery Great breakfast selection but coffee not great"
Best Western Plus Apollo Hotel Newcastle
"Very nice, well maintained. Improvements needed on the breakfast supplied. The hot food left alot to be desired but easily fixed Scrambled egg, had a green tinge because the eggs had been in the warmer to long. This is rectified by replacing the eggs every hour. I observed the kitchen staff pouring new hot food on top of the old product. This would be more professional if the complete dish was removed from the warmer and replaced with the new dish containing the new product."
Northern Star Hotel Hamilton
"Location"
Ibis Budget Newcastle
"The staff were excellent. Budget accommodation, 5 star staff."
The Gateway Inn
"The same thing I dont like everytime at this hotel is also the only thing I ever have to complain about @ The Gateway Inn... & thats when I have to leave. (Sad Face) I just love this place, the staff are so wonderful & are always happy to go the extra mile yet so modestly & kindly make you feel like nothing is a bother or too much to accomodate in their efforts to show that you're valued as a customer & feel welcomed like a family friend. The vibe is like a big safe warm hug. The rooms provided are generous in space, ameneties are varied & top notch & the customer service extended is of international standards. And No I wasn't promised anything to say all these great things about the Gateway, but Ive tried the rest & dont even have to guess you'll be impressed- by the Best Hotel in town!!"

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Newcastle
- Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Newcastle is during May, July, and August, when hotel prices are generally lower. For a fulfilling experience, it’s recommended to stay for at least 2 to 3 days to fully appreciate the city’s significant landmarks, cultural sites, and historical attractions. During your visit, you can explore various activities such as canoeing along the river, enjoying the local libraries, or taking in the beautiful natural parks. With these options, Newcastle offers great value for money for those seeking an affordable getaway focused on history and culture.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals to Newcastle, you may discover attractive offers by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where discounted rates on hotels are available close to your travel date. Enabling email alerts or push notifications can keep you informed about flash sales and special promotions, enhancing your chances of securing the best prices. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re well-informed. This way, you’ll be alerted if rooms become available or prices drop, making it easier to plan your spontaneous getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates could potentially help you save on your stay in a Newcastle hotel. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised touch and often offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we’ll suggest alternative dates that may be more affordable, helping you to secure the best possible deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but with Newcastle's excellent public transport links, you may find a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often great value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
