We arrived around 11am to drop off our bags and were delighted to be welcomed by name and offered coffee, which arrived with croissants too! This historical property is an oasis in the beautiful town of Lucca.
Our room (7) was spacious and the bathroom gleaming, with a jacuzzi bath. The room was front facing, so there was some noise from the street, but nothing to worry about.
Breakfast was very good, with copious amounts of proper coffee, choice of tea, fruit juice, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, cheese, ham, bread, jam/honey selection of local tarts & pastries. Each morning we were offered a special little dish, sometimes pancakes with ricotta & chocolate and sometimes yogurt, honey & granola, which we thought was a lovely touch.
We loved this hotel and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We asked for some restaurant recommendations as we wanted to try traditional local dishes and we loved all those we tried. People in Lucca are very friendly, it's a great base for exploring Florence & Pisa and the churches, towers & palaces of Lucca are well worth a visit.
