We were traveling with my sister and her husband, and stayed in rooms next to each other. Unfortunately, our stay was far from comfortable. It was extremely hot, and the air-conditioning in our room didn’t work. Despite all of us trying to adjust it, it never blew cool air. To make matters worse, the front desk is not staffed at night, so there was no one to help us.
We couldn’t sleep because we were sweating, even after taking showers to try to cool down. It honestly felt like we were in an oven. I tried opening the window, but the street noise—being right on a main road near the train station—made it more unbearable.
In the morning, I shared our experience with the woman at the front desk. She didn’t apologize or show much concern—she simply said they would check it out. When we returned a few hours later to pick up our luggage, there was no follow-up or acknowledgment by her.
Once home, I contacted Hotels.com, who kindly reached out to the hotel on my behalf. Unfortunately, the hotel refused to offer any gesture or acknowledgment, saying it was “too late,” even though I had raised the issue before checking out. I wasn’t asking for a refund—just a small gesture to show they cared—but they declined.
Hotels.com offered a small goodwill credit, which I appreciated, especially since the problem wasn’t their fault.
The hotel itself isn’t terrible, but this experience really left me disappointed.
