We loved the location, just a few blocks from the piazza where we watched the palio horserace trials - super convenient The staff was very helpful, really bending over backward to get us a cab at an extremely busy time of year.

Good Siena Hotel
We arrived at the hotel and were greeted by the receptionist "Vincenzo" who was so friendly and helpful. We had a special request and he fulfilled that as asked for. He provided us with helpful information about Siena and always greeted us with a friendly attitude and smile.
We had only one negative experience; the day we left our train wasn't until evening so Vincenzo allowed us to leave our luggage in the office. He informed us he had to leave at two PM but we could use the lobby floor toilet for changing and refreshing before our journey. The receptionist who replaced him was terrible. He was so rude and nasty to us he made us feel like we were unwanted intruders. We departed feeling like our over-all positive experience at the hotel had been blemished by one person. The hotel should be informed.

Quaint hotel in downtown Siena
This is an older hotel that has not been renovated but is still in decent shape. One half of my bed seemed to have issues. Being in downtown Siena, it was pretty noisy outside even later into the night. The breakfast is excellent and the staff is friendly. Be aware that you will have a city tax that you have to pay in cash, a fact that surprised me as I went to check out.

Located on a very noisy street (vehicle traffic all night, even people talking on street echoed in rooms).

Centrally located small hotel with lift
The hotel is very central for the sights of Sienna. Clean, comfortable quiet and great views from the upper floors. The recently installed lift makes it just about perfect - I wouldn’t have wanted to carry bags up to the third floor! Breakfast is simple but adequate. All the staff are friendly and helpful.

Great location and cool old structure
Loved Siena
Lovely place but room a bit stuffy
I could smell the smoke in the walls from years of smoking
But I’m super sensitive
And the space is very comfortable
And great location

this is a great place to stay in sienna.
i really liked this locanda. our room needed a bit of sprucing up but i would certainly stay there again. the location was about a five minute walk from the piazza where they have the horse race each august. quiet neighborhood. other people staying there appeared to be EU citizens with children. great breakfast. (italians seem to take my motto{eat dessert first}to heart, they have lovely cakes and sweets with breakfast.) old fashioned charm. the owner was the greatest ever. he booked a day tour with 2 stops for wine tastings and 3 stops in small towns. he also made sure a cab was there to take us to the train station at 6 am. he also helped us with a few other small problems. we were glad we chose the Locanda DI San Martino.

Quirky little hotel, centrally located
We chose this hotel as one of the quirky ones to stay whilst in Italy. It lived up to that, with the approach via narrow streets (in a taxi) and the reception. The room we had was great, it had two rooms, one with a sofa bed, and the main bedroom with a large bed. We had a beautiful view from the rooms. It was a great location for exploring Siena, as was only a few minutes from the Piazza di Campo.
Breakfast was simple, but adequate. If you have a sweet tooth then you will be in good company there.
Overall a lovely little place to stay that enabled us to make the most of a two night stopover in Siena.

Beautiful view. Excellent location
This accommodation was very unique. A lovely historic building in an absolutely fabulous location in the heart of the city. Everything was within easy walking distance. The staff was so helpful, booking wine tours for us and arranging transportation and restaurant recommendations.
The view from our room was breathtaking. The rooms were immaculate and spacious/ I would definitely recommend this place.

An old-fashioned hotel
This is a four storey traditional city hotel. The walls were hand painted, kind of 1990s rustic. Our room was clean, with a fantastic view out of the city. It was a little small, but fine for us (except we had trouble keeping two backpacks off the floor). Breakfast was fine, with very friendly staff.

Great Location for Visiting Siena
This is an older building that has been nicely remodeled. We booked one of the premium rooms which turned out to be on the 4th floor and had a great view of the city. The breakfasts were great. The wifi was great. Best of all was the helpfulness of the staff.

A lovely place to stay.
This hotel is in a great location as it was within walking distance of the main piazza and many of the interesting shops. I recommend taking a taxi from the train station as we took the local bus and then had to walk a fair way before we found the hotel. The taxi back to the train station was around 10 euros.
The staff were friendly and organised a taxi for us and also allowed us to store luggage while we finished exploring the town. The breakfast was lovely and, although not the most modern hotel, it was a nice place to stay.
