Excellent in every way except musty
We stayed one night. The room was impeccably clean with high quality linens and towels. Good amenities including larger mini-fridge and coffee maker. Good TV and lots of storage. Ceiling fan. My only complaint is that it was musty which is understandable given both the age of the building and the climate in this area. Airing the room out didn't help.

Great place if you want to explore the Skydrive
A traditional room in a row of log cabins. Very basic and rustic. There are two beds in quite a small room. Not a huge amount of space but adequate for the one night we were there. Basically bathroom but again adequate for what you need. It was all clean and there was a coffee maker. The walls are thin and as my husband was still recovering from a cold we felt inclined the let our neighbours know that there may coughing and snoring (due to how thin the walls are). The area is as you would expect - you’re in a National Park. Getting to main building for food is via paths which aren’t well lit or level so bear that in mind. No problem for us. We enjoyed our evening meal and service was good. The receptionist was a little frosty but maybe she’d had a tough day. Breakfast service however wasn’t great. You couldn’t be in a hurry!! We ventured to he downstairs bar as there was a singer playing. It was a quaint enjoyable place. Overall we enjoyed our time there and would return

Lovely spacious room with a view, we enjoyed our stay. Nice lounge area with rocking chairs and outside seating. Reception staff could have been a little more welcoming.

6/10 Good

Charming old lodge. Walking from Lodge to room very dim lighting. Not at all safe if there had been bear. Staff overall was pleasant. Upstairs servers were great. Gift shop male pleasant and friendly. There were a couple nasty staff members unhappy and rude. We saw a server in tap room pick up a check and go around asking who was sitting there because they didn't pay their tab.The drink was paid for in cash - witnessed by several others. Server told another table and they paid for that table as well. Argumentative and embarrassing. Server could have used help as was very busy with large crowd and stressed out. Completely ignored at check out. No signs to tell us what checkout procedure was. Female behind desk rude never acknowledging me. No hot water - unless you run water for 15 minutes. Very wasteful. Mattresses were painfully hard. The price paid was for much better accomodations than we got. Some paid same price and had many more amenities. We definitely will not stay again.

2/10 Poor

When we arrived we asked if there was a vacancy and were told by the clerk that yes, there were plenty of rooms available (two queen beds) as we were a family of four. We went downstairs to eat dinner and booked our room online, paid for it and it was confirmed. After dinner we tried to check in and now the same clerk told us there were no rooms available. We asked if we could get something in writing stating that he never checked us in so we could get our money back and he said his printer had no ink. We then asked him to email us instead and he said he did. We checked our email and what he sent us stated that we were confirmed and checked in. We questioned him about this after realizing he was lying and the exchange got very heated with shouting, swearing and a huge scene. In all my decades of traveling in the US and abroad, I have never experienced this! It was extremely bizarre and we literally felt like the guy ripped us off for nearly $200. It was 9:30 at night at this point and our family had to drive 30 miles outside of the national park to find lodging for the night.

The rooms need updating. Stairs, carpeting walls all worn. Very minimal to no hot water in room. Comforters worn with holes. Room was clean. Did not interact with staff except for front desk. He was cordial.
