Before I start, thanks Mr. Phuc (doorman), for being the best part of my hotel stay. 3.5 stars is apparently what happens when you cut costs from a 4. Hot water that does not go above lukewarm. Poolside hot tub might have gotten a couple degrees above the freezing windy pool. No worries, my daughter's chattering teeth almost rivaled the 80+dB construction noise from next door. It happens. They stop hammering at 20:30. Had dinner out and went to the skybar, which is open. Wide-open. Beautiful empty space where a bar should be. Surprise. On the plus side, some background music was all we need to drift off on the comfy bed. The pile-driver wakeup call is at 07:30. Buffet was below average, but came with a pho/omlette guy. Came back from the beach to ask the front desk if I could get another hour added to our checkout time, they gave us 2. Awesome. Felt good to not rush. Felt good enough to order some over-priced room service, even after the cautionary buffet. Got a club sandwich instead of the hamburger I ordered, half right. The only surface could hold the room service tray was a nightstand that I moved to the front of the bed for a table. That's when the unthinkable happened. A couple drops of chili sauce fell on the duvet. After waiting 20 minutes for the cleaning crew to report for checkout, I was informed that I would need to buy a replacement duvet at the cost of an additional night. I haggled down to a cleaning fee, because cleaning is not included with your room charge.
