On the good side, I liked the location of this property. Downtown Kahului was like a central location for Maui, that’s not too far from anything. Despite it’s next to a major road, I never heard anything from the streets nor from any other rooms. For a light sleeper like me, I was very pleased with its sound isolation. The room was spacious, more than enough for us to spread out a few suitcases and still had room left to walk around.
Unfortunately, a number of other issues meant our stay was far from ideal. To begin, we spotted a cockroach (not photo’d ) and a giant spider (photo attached) in the room, that indicated the hotel had some serious cleanness issues. The housekeeping was by request only, and even when requested, it’s by no means prompt. The front desk was friendly, but visibly understaffed as I had to wait for most of the interactions with them. The furniture felt dated. The flat/top sheets were not visibly larger than the blue blanket that they were designed to cover (which, since the front desk mentioned the blankets were replaced between guests, I assume that’s not much an issue).
In the end, the cleanness issue meant we had a rather disappointing stay.
