Lounge/eating area not clean. Carpet and fabric chairs stained and filthy. Our bathroom had a sewer smell. Complained but nothing was done. On the positive side, front desk staff were very pleasant.

A comfortable stay near Coconut Grove
My daughter and I were looking for a comfortable and reasonably-priced base from which to visit our family who live in Coral Gables. The Hampton Inn, which is a short drive from Coconut Grove and about 20 minutes from Coral Gables, provides a spacious room and bathroom. Amenities are basic (no robes or slippers or restaurant) and the shower spray in our room - which had no bathtub - was very light. We enjoyed the convenience of daily breakfast - especially as there is no diner within walking distance- and happy hour on Tues, Wednesday and Thursday from 5-7. The desk staff are very courteous and helpful. Parking is $13 a night. I plan to revisit this hotel on future trips to Miami.
