Great hostal central location
Hostal del Buen Viaje is a great place to stay during any trip to Havana. The location is very central and easy to walk around from. The staff was so kind, accommodating, and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and clean.

Our Home in Havana
This was my third stay at the Hostal del Buen Viaje, and I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Havana. The people are warm, welcoming, and attentive, ensuring we had a perfect stay once again. It's surprisingly quiet with no street noise, and the inner courtyard allows you to appreciate a clean outside feel. Breakfast is well balanced, fresh, and tasty. The only challenge about writing an honest review of such a great place is that it has become increasingly difficult to book the place ourselves because they have been sold out at times.

Really Enjoyed this Hostel, the room with a bed in the loft and a comfortable sofa bed was perfect for my son and I sharing the room. Nice roof top terrace area. The AC, TV, and Fridge all worked very well. Easy walk to the Capital building area and down to Old Havana and the Harbor. Several cool bars with food literally 50 yards away. The staff could not have been nicer, very helpful. Even helped me change a flat tire on my rental car. I would stay here again. Cal G.

Stay and you won’t want to leave
I have stayed in 4-5 different locations in Old Havana of the course of numerous trips, and was on the lookout for a place to make my “regular spot”. After this trip, I have found it. The accommodations were very nice, the entire place is very clean and calm. The design aesthetic is beautiful. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. The location is perfect for a safe and secure feeling of where you are staying and well populated short distance walks to numerous food and drink options and self-guided tours.

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at this property. When traveling in Cuba, I chose to stay in the heart of Old Havana. The property is located in the heart, and is surrounded by a very poor community. However, it was a perfect!! The people in the community were very kind and the employees at the hostal was phenomenal, especially Augustin and Joanna.

The staff and owners were very helpful and friendly. They were always available and happy to book any activities up and change money. The room was lovely with good air conditioning. The breakfast of eggs and toast/jam and good coffee was really nice. You could buy cold water or beer at anytime. Great Place to Stop in Havana
This is a lovely Casa Particular to stay in. They really care for you here and breakfast is excellent. The building is in good condition and the AC works well. You are walking distance from all the main sights in Havana, and it feels safe to walk round here. Downsides? as with all of Cuba the WIFI is a bit unreliable, and the mattress was not the most comfortable. HOWEVER - The pluses far outweigh any negatives so I recommend!

Very beautiful room with nice windows and balcony. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The whole place was kept very clean. As expected the wifi was not great but it was sufficient for our needs. Breakfast was modest but also sufficient. The shower was the worst part of our stay. It was very very challenging to get “warm” water…very cold OR very hot (scalding) water was available. Also the water pressure in the shower was very very light (even compared to a typical light pressure in Europe).

Our stay here was wonderful. The staff are excellent, extremely friendly and helpful. They gave us a lot of helpful tips for our stay with money exchange, places to see, taxis, restaurants and anything we could need. Breakfast was nice which was welcome as the food generally in Havana isn’t great. The rooms were cleaned every day and the air conditioning was sublime. WiFi was spotty but it seems to be a problem with the National provider not the Casa. Yamela (name sp.?) was a lovely and helpful host and I’d like to thank Carlos as well, he helped us out a lot and was so pleasant. Austin too. All of the staff are great and a credit to the Casa. The area is a little rough around the edges but the location itself is good, close to the Capitol, Gran Theater, Hotels, Revolution Museum (closed for renovations), Many squares, parks, and the ocean front. Thank you!
