Stayed at this B&B for a couple of nights as we were attending a wedding. Nice property with attached bar/restaurant which is a useful as really not much else in Knucklas. Food and breakfast were decent, and owner/staff helpful and friendly.

6/10 Good

Great staff & service with clean modern room.
We were expecting to stay in/above the pub but found that the rooms are in an annexe at the rear of the pub. Accessed from the pub garden via a metal staircase which is very slippy when wet! We were upgraded to the large family room 1 upon arrival as apparently the other rooms were cold. Our host was really welcoming and asked about reserving a table for dinner and the time we’d like breakfast. The room was however still cold on arrival but we were up to temperature in about an hour or two. The room was pleasant and very clean, as was the newly renovated en-suite. A little low on shower pressure but plenty of hot water. Larger towels please (Bath sheets) :-) Tea and coffee provided but no extra touches like bottled or filtered water, biscuits, or something for the non coffee/tea drinkers. Hot choc perhaps? Bed was on the low side with a very soft sprung mattress. Not much back support sadly and we did roll together to the centre. Pleasantly surprised by the feather/down duvet which was very cosy. The staff, service and food more than make up for any little niggles or personal preferences at this Inn and we’d definitely come back for another meal!
Room 1 - At top of external metal staircase accessed from beer garden. Slippery steps when wet. Room cold on arrival at took a while to heat, but cosy once warmed up.
Very clean modernised en-suite. Shower pressure a bit low. Cold on arrival and took a while to warm up. No large Bath sheets only next size down.
Ok selection, no hot choc for non tea & coffee drinkers. Sadly no biccies.
A number of rooms are at the top of this metal staircase in beer garden. Be aware in case of mobility issues. Slippery when wet!

We arrived to a warm welcome and quickly shown to our room. Tastefully decorated, warm and comfortable with ample towels and decent sized tea cups. We had an evening meal that was well portioned, reasonably priced, wonderfully cooked and served with a smile and breakfast in the morning was an equal delight. Having found this jewel we are planning another but longer visit.

Comfortable enough.
A satisfactory inn for one night. Room was clean and comfortable enough. You had to climb steps to get there and the steps were outside. I’m afraid there wasn’t the warmth that we felt from other places especially from the owner. The breakfast was average at best. Old fruit. Dinner was good.

Quiet, neat and comfortable accommodation with relaxed booking in process. Friendly, helpful staff with great meals. The mattress on the double bed needs to be replaced with a slightly firmer one and shower head holder was broken, which requires replacing. Anyone requiring accommodation in that area, I would definitely recommend it.

weekend away
Stayed here for the second time, as we enjoyed it so much last year. We stayed for a couple of nights and ate there on both evenings. The room was clean and spacious, the service excellent. The food is great, and there is plenty to choose from. I chose a Thai dish one night and a Jalfresi the next night, both were the best I have ever tasted. My partner also enjoyed both his meals. The portions are large and although we shared a starter on the first night, we still had difficulty finishing our main dish. So the next night we didn't try a starter, and my partner just had enough room for the homemade cheesecake. The service in the pub was excellent and it was very busy - so you need to book. The Castle Inn is in a small village, but there is a bus or train to Knighton if you want a trip out. We did the walk to Knighton around the hills at the back - it stated it was moderate and around 5 miles. The scenery was lovely, and there were many hills to climb. Luckily the weather stayed with us until we got in to Knighton, we stopped at the Horse and Jockey for a drink, and the heavens opened . So after a couple of drinks we got the bus back
