Very disappointing
This was a last minute booking after failing to find an evacuation flight out of Cuba due to coronavirus. The hotel is very very tired & tatty. Breakfast was not good. We couldn’t use the wifi cards outside the hotel that we bought there. We didn’t pay much money for our stay here but later went into the international hotel next door which was a star in comparison (although a lot more expensive).

Old world charm.
The hotel was beautiful as you walked in. Old world beauty. The rooms & furniture are basic. The bed was very low to the ground and did not have box springs or did not have a mattress. Not sure which piece was missing. Nonetheless we slept soundly. Common areas have no AC. Only the rooms. The bath and shower are extremely slippery. Be careful when wet! Could not flush the toilet multiple times within a few hours. Tank apparently was very slow to fill. But yes we would stay there again. Old world charm. With nice buffet breakfast.

Lobby at the hotel looks great, service -needs improvement .... especially men! They are following ladies and they are ude! They are trying to approach each single girl ... the worst was tall Afro/American security Lazy receptionists.... one tall gentleman (slim with glasses) was really supportive!!!

Mixed bag
Classic old hotel with a nice lobby bar. Interior room was spacious and quiet. Most employees were great, but a few were unapologetically inattentive and grumpy. Elevators frequently out of service. No water for several hours—two such occurrences during my short stay. Mattresses were old and room smelled musty.

Beautiful, clean hotel in an excellent location!
Beautiful, clean hotel in a terrific location. Great view of the city from the top floor where breakfast is served. They had terrific food in the restaurant as well! Some of the staff was friendly, all were efficient and some spoke English very well. It's Cuba is the excuse for everything they can't do immediately (very typical of the entire country) and more often than not entirely correct but rather a language and culture difference so sometimes they can do it but it will take time. Also, when you book a "double room", it is two twin beds not a double or queen bed. So if you want one big bed, book a room with a King bed. There was no hot water in the whole downtown area when I was there due to a water main break which was totally not the fault of the hotel but they managed to keep the hotel very clean and the food was still excellent! There a leak in the bathroom coming from a large stained area on the ceiling that dripped my entire stay. Despite my unsuccessful attempts to communicate this to the cleaning staff, they never put a bucket put under it so I used towels to soak up it up and keep it quiet at night. I would definitely stay here again if I visit Havana again.

The hotel was closed when we arrived because it had no water. But we were moved to a nearby hotel, the Seville, which was very good. However, we were left to drag our suitcases through the street for a couple of blocks, which was not easy.

They transferred me to hotel Sevilla. They said they were having a problem with the water. That is a lie. They overbooked, so they detoured clients to the other hotel, where I did not have the free internet they promised.

Horrible hotel
Horrible hotel that I first time see, there was no water in the hotel for whole night, people in the hotel they don’t even try to help. How they rated themselves as a 3 star hotel, everything in the hotel are so old, bed is broken too.I think hostel even better than them. I supposed stay there for 3 nights but I gave up 2 other nights.

Visiting Cuba you must go with an open mind and what you would expect in other parts of the world you sort of have to forget. Most hotel properties are old and not up to date. For the most part the staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. Our room did not have hot running water for two out of the three nights we stayed. The front desk was notified but the maintenance guy was not and he apologized. The complimentary breakfast is not that great. We actually had breakfast at another hotel a couple of times. One thing they do have amazing is the AC unit. After walking around in the heat it was comforting to return to a very cold room. We did not hang out at the property as it has no pool, no amenities whatsoever except for free breakfast. No free Wi-Fi as you have to buy a card so you can connect to their Wi-Fi. They have a roof top sundeck and bar but it's never open.

The Hotel Plaza was built in the 50s ... and never
The Hotel Plaza was built in the 50s ... and never was fixed or upgraded. The hotel hall is nice and you see tourists taking pictures of the place. However the rooms are a complete disaster. In our room, the window's glass was missing. When we politely complained about it, they pointed that Cuba is warm enough and we will not be cold. The pollution, smog and noise from the street was present at time in the room. The walls are falling down and the bathroom makes you dream home or a better standard

Horrible, don’t book it
It was horrible. Bedbugs(my friend got bites all over her body), bugs in the caféarea, wifi is not free as stated on hotels.com. Dirty rooms, bedsheets nor towels were changed and had stains and hair on them. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to book it and can’t believe this hotel is even available here.
