Katie at the front desk was the Best! She was so helpful and just a delightful person. Loved chatting with her about her pets and she shared pics. We were home sick for our dogs at the time so it helped. Katie just thank you for all your assistant, from your new friends in Pennsylvania.

2/10 Poor

We initially were checked into room 202, upon entry, bad smell of cigarettes (it’s a non smoking room). Immediately went down to the lobby, lovely person changed our room, we dropped our bags and left for the wedding. Arrived back at Room 208 at about 2:30 am at which time we noticed: Stains in the carpet, windows did not work properly, window blinds that don't close all the way, batteries in the remote not working, black mold on the shower tile - what more do I need to say. These are obvious things, why as the customer should it be MY job to report it. We left ASAP when we woke up. Not worth the money AT ALL!!!!!

6/10 Good

Close to the action but noisy.
This hotel is clean, small and close to many bars and nightclubs. This is both good and bad. Bad because when the club's letout, you will be awoken due to the noise and shouting from drunken partyers. Our room had issues with the bathroom. There are no shelves to put your toilet kit or hang your towel. The sink stopper was missing and a rubber plug replaced it. No wash cloths or bar soap, only "body wash". I am an older traveler but these are minimum actions I take for granted on a trip.

A great stay by the Shannon River
Travelled with a friend from the USA. Location is excellent. The apartment was spacious, two bedrooms, one on-suite and one with a separate bathroom. The lounge/kitchen was a good size with good facilities. Large windows giving great light throughout the day. A bonus was the offer of some hotel services, i.e. daily change of towels. All the staff we met were very friendly and more than willing to assist with all our queries. A fantastic base for touring the area.

I had come down after working from early that morning. I wanted a few hours sleep to keep me going for that night. Then somebody was drilling something along the corridor so I couldn’t fall asleep. After from this it was lovely

6/10 Good

Clean and comfortable
The Carrick Plaza Suites have been very popular with stag and hen parties and unfortunately it shows in the wear and tear. The burn marks on the carpet were covered by a cheap rug. Painted walls had been touched up. Not all lights in the corridor worked. But for all that it was clean and comfortable and inexpensive. The staff on reception were lovely. Each one genuinely friendly and warm. They are the best part

Staff were very pleasant. The rooms were clean, modern and spacious. My only downside with this accommodation were they could have some more vending machines throughout and the 1 than was there was empty and stocked Aldi Brand Crisps for €2! Also the you couldn’t check in till 4pm which was a bit restrictive. But over all the accommodation is somewhere I would return too.

4/10 Fair

The best thing about the place was the internet reception. But there was neither a table nor a chair in the room, so it was hard to work online. The carpet was stained. The bed was spacious and comfortable, but sloppily made. The shower unit had no doors [they'd been smashed and not replaced. The door handle to the bathroom was loose: no screws to hold it in place. We mentioned this to reception and one screw [too small for the worn hole in the door] was put into handle. As a result on our second evening, the door, when closed, failed to open [just as well no-one was inside the bathroom!]. The night porter kindly got the door open. we did not dare to close it fully after that, with obvious loss of privacy The second night [6.10] was disturbed throughout by other guests in the hotel. We maybe should have known better than to stay in a hotel that was catering for this younger generation of noisy stags and hens. Apparently, they like, quite often, to trash the rooms they're staying in. The receptionist on duty [a charming woman] told us that their store contained many broken chairs. arising from guestly vandalism. The store, by the way, ran the entire length of the other side of the corridor where our room was located, but was camouflaged by dummy doors. we only saw into it by chance. all this for €122 a night!

Pleasant friendly staff
Hotel is in a great position with easy access to town. Room was clean and spacious. Staff pleasant and helpful. They do have a problem with stag and hen parties on a weekend. We were woken on the Friday night by a party in our neighbouring room, but as soon as we contacted the front desk it was sorted.
