The hotel is badly in need of refurbishment. The furniture in the rooms is dated and ill matching. I do not expect a 5 star hotel to have coffee making facilities which consist of a small kettle and sachets of cheap, instant coffee. With regard to this, when we arrived, those meagre facilities were not available in either of the 2 rooms we had booked. It was not until the next day that they arrived in our daughter's room. On one occasion the room was not cleaned, despite our being out for most of the day, This was only rectified after 2 phone calls to reception .In addition, the toiletries available are not up to 5 star standard The service in the hotel is far from what is expected of a 5 star hotel i.e. no turn down service, no welcoming drink(not necessarily alcoholic).
The rules re sunbeds apparently forbid reserving before 10am.While I appreciate that reserving a sun bed and then disappearing for a long period of time is unacceptable, all of the 5 star hotels we have stayed in previously have allowed between 45 mins and 1 hour to allow time to have breakfast. In addition, the hotel should provide some training to the group of men who are responsible for removing the towels etc as their approach was intimidating. The mini golf course is falling to pieces and there were slug pellets within easy reach of children. In my opinion this is not a 5 star hotel.
