"It’s Lovely venue, we arrived late due to traffic congestion on M6 , (think the Hotel Sign just off the Motorway -should direct via the A6 it’s a much better road-than the very rough track -a nightmare from B road- Sat Nav Directions-!,). Breakfast was lovely, Bed Comfort excellent - as we arrived late I was concerned we might wake others as floor boards in room were creaky, we were not at the Hotel but a few hours but very impressed with the place and over the top .helpful day manager and Staff (on 2nd if August)if we venture North again we will certainly stay again -hopefully longer next time-. Feeling of a taste of Luxury, With impressive surroundings and Friendly Helpful -staff . In fact everyone we met were relaxed and commented about the historical side -other people passing through- ‘it has character’, Well Established . "

"Lovely hotel with spacious room and comfy beds. Newly renovated gym which is among the best hotel gyms I've seen. Also a nice pool, albeit fairly small. Food in restaurant also very nice"

"The staff were friendly and welcoming, the rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast in thr morning was simple but perfect to enjoy before heading out on a hike Would definitely stay again! "

"The accommodation was fantastic - we stayed in the two bed apartment. Loved the decor and the very soft carpet which really added a special touch. The views are amazing looking out onto fields of sheep. It's extremely quiet, being the apartment at the back end of the accommodations. A large smart TV in each of the rooms - this gives the option of relaxing and logging into to all your apps. The fixtures and fittings are of a high standard and this could be seen throughout. Also I found myself looking at all of the high quality equipment for example the kettle/toaster/Ninja dual airfyer to name a few. There were complimentary biscuits, coffee, tea, milk, sugar. Towels were white and very soft. I used the hairdryer which was v powerful. The shower was also a good pressure. We had an evening meal during our stay. We were a family of four, with two children aged 10 and 13. The food was good (we booked in advance on the website). We chose something off the children's menu and the main menu with plenty of traditional pub options. We also found the beers on tap and other options (wine, spirits) very good - something for everyone. We would stay here again for sure - there are not many pubs that cater for a family of four with the option of eating out or staying in. "

"Very Scottish decor’ for some reason. Staff were over worked and doing multiple jobs as best as they could and as quickly as they good. Tending bar, taking orders, waiting on tables - just one person! They really struggled at breakfast with a coach party all coming down to eat at the same time and only two waitresses and one chef to handle everything. I could see how frustrated the staff and the customers were getting with the whole situation. The room was clean and tidy with good tea and coffee amenities. TV was working well. Bathroom looked recently refurbished. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I really liked their “free drink instead of housekeeping” option, which I absolutely decided to go for. Hotel is conveniently located to train station and a short walk into Kendal town centre. "

"Good location near town Centre but reasonably quiet at night . Lovely clean single room (Room 5) with plenty of electrical sockets and very comfortable duvet and bed, great breakfast in the morning and friendly staff, what more can I say? Shared clean bathroom with good shower. Would definitely return again."
