Quiet location that is walkable to Kyoto station. Very accessible yet away from the city noises. Room is much larger than anywhere we've stayed in Japan (we booked the superior King).
Walking distance to lots of eating places and recommend trying the local restaurants around the block if you're overwhelmed by theboptions at the train station.

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Kyoto
Book for the cheapest times: The most affordable time to visit Kyoto is during January, February, and September, when hotel prices are generally lower. For those on a budget, staying for at least 2 to 3 days is recommended to fully appreciate the city's remarkable landmarks and cultural attractions. Visitors can explore stunning temples, picturesque gardens, and significant monuments, as well as take part in historical tours and sightseeing that highlight Kyoto's rich heritage. This duration offers great value for money, allowing you to immerse yourself in the captivating history and natural beauty that the city has to offer.
Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: Visit Hotels.com and check the Dealsopens in new window section for competitive hotel deals to Kyoto. You may discover attractive offers for Kyoto hotels, especially if you also explore the Last-Minute Deals section for opportunities close to your travel date. Additionally, enable email alerts or push notifications to stay informed about flash sales and special last-minute promotions. Through the app, you're more likely to see price and availability updates, and the Smart Shopping tool allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you book a last-minute getaway with confidence.
Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate due to factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a better deal on accommodation in Kyoto. For those seeking something distinctive, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and may offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we’ll suggest alternative dates that could be more affordable, assisting you in discovering a more favourable option.
Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive; however, thanks to Kyoto's outstanding public transport connections, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel located a bit further out that remains well-served by public transport. For those keen on exploring alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value to be found. Opting for these alternative locations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
