Fine once you’re inside
This place certainly doesn’t have much ‘curb appeal’ and you have to fight through a fast food restaurant to get to the hotel door, but the room was clean and spacious and service is great.

Great Budget Hotel in Downtown
This is a great budget hotel in downtown Cairo. Staff is incredibly friendly. Best part of the hotel for sure. It is on the 5th and 6th floor of a building so intially you need to climb some stairs. The elevator does work but you need a fob for it. Rooms are nicely renovated too. If you’re traveling solo or on a budget this is a great hotel.

This place will fool you from the outside. The area in general is historic. The rooms are clean and pretty updated. Very nice people. The price is affordable I liked it overall.

It’s nice place in the middle of everything, very convenient to do shopping many restaurants and cafes,the only thing could be disturbing if you are an early sleeper it is a bit noisy at nigh and the door to the balcony doesn’t have good insulation. Some suggestions: It will be great if they have a hairdryer and extra roll of toilet paper inside the room and they definitely need a sign for the the guests to guide them where they can reach the reception When entering the building there is no sign that the hotel is on the sixth floor, you will be wondering how to find the hotel where.

This is a nice affordable hotel located in the heart of downtown, close to Tahrir Square. While the exterior of the hotel appears old and worn, the rooms are newly furnished and quite appealing. The rooms themselves are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast is served each morning, featuring delicious Egyptian cuisine. The hotel is conveniently located, with easy access to the city, and the Egyptian Museum is just a short walk away. The staff, especially Ali and Karim, were excellent and extremely helpful. However, I recommend not booking any tours through the hotel, as they are overpriced and the guides seem rushed. For a better experience, consider booking through platforms like Viator or Expedia. I do not want to reduce any stars for this as it is optional and I just took a tour from them.

Honest review. Booked the deluxe double room months in advance but after a long flight and drive from the airport I arrived to the hotel to be told (in a very blasé manner) that our room had been given to someone else. I have been a guest at Sama’s multiple times and I always enjoyed it. However this time it was not a good experience. The day of booking they contacted me telling me that they messed up and that they can’t accommodate the two rooms I reserved weeks in advance. They told me I had to go to their “sister” hotel that is close by. They assured me that it is exactly the same in terms of cleanliness and level of service. Unfortunately that is not true. The furniture of the rooms were much older, the bathrooms were much smaller and the room didn’t even have a phone to talk to reception! This is very disappointing. I considered Sama to be my go to place when I come to Cairo but now I am reconsidering.
