Learn more about Mystic

Maritime history comes alive at Mystic Seaport Museum, where you can board the Charles W. Morgan, America's last wooden whaling ship. The Mystic River Bascule Bridge rises hourly, creating an impromptu pause in village life as boats parade beneath. After watching beluga whales at Mystic Aquarium, grab fresh seafood at waterfront restaurants where locals debate which chowder truly reigns supreme. The city centre marina buzzes with sailors swapping tales that grow taller with each telling. For a change of pace, Foxwoods Resort Casino and Mohegan Sun Casino await in nearby towns, their entertainment options extending far beyond gaming floors. Don't miss climbing aboard restored vessels where shipbuilders still practice traditional crafts, their hands continuing work begun in 1784.

Mystic River Hotel & Suites Near Casinos

"I had been to this hotel a few years ago. I was still satisfied with the condition of the room overall, the beds are great. The pool is closed now. The pool being closed didn't negatively affect my own stay but they may want to update it on the website that it is closed because I think a lot of customers still think it's open. The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Their fitness center is decent but they only have up to 10 lb dumbbells. It would be nice if they added some heavier dumbbells or some type of universal strength machine. Did you have free coffee and juice. Overall considering the area that it's in is still a good hotel at an affordable price."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Mystic

  1. Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Mystic on a budget can be a truly delightful experience, especially between January and March when hotel prices might drop to lower prices. For a full exploration of its landmarks, history, and culture – including attractions such as the port, aquarium, museums, boating, shopping, seafood, dining, small-town charm and sailing – a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. This period offers affordable, great value for money, and budget-friendly experiences that highlight the rich heritage and cultural landscape of Mystic.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Mystic, visit the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals section on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted hotel rates close to your travel date. Additionally, enabling email alerts or push notifications will keep you informed about flash sales and special promotions, helping ensure you don't miss any opportunities to save. With the Smart Shopping tool available via the app, you could compare hotel prices and amenities, allowing you to make informed decisions. If rooms become available or prices drop, you're more likely to be notified first, making it easier to secure your last-minute getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may assist you in finding a better deal for your stay in a Mystic hotel. For those seeking distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and occasionally better value. When you make a booking through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we can suggest more affordable dates that might help you uncover a more favourable rate.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be pricier, but with Mystic's superb public transport links, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well-connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
