Double booked!
I was booked in a Penthouse deluxe 2 bed suite for a week on Dec 27, 2017 - I had booked Anah Suites as it not only had a pool but was high end and located away from 5th avenue (i.e. quiet at night). I had made this booking via Expedia around 6 months ago. I recieved a confirmation email from Expedia that stated I did not need to confirm the reservation. However, upon arrival with my family of 5 (2 x Adults and 3 x children), I was informed by the Front desk that a suite was not available. The local rep who manages the apartment would not speak with with me directly.
I then contacted Expedia by phone to determine what could be done as it was quite late (around 10pm) and my family were tired from the flight (travel) and needed somewhere to stay. Following several calls I was put up in a 2* room with my family for a single night. I was then transferred to another property which had no pool and was located directly on 5th avenue for the remainder of our stay (I had to pay for local transportation between each accomodation). I had requested another alternative which was similar to Anah suites and also appeared to have availability but this was not considered. In short, the whole vacation was a disaster; we didn't have a pool and we didn't get much sleep either. I have used Expedia for over 15 years and this experience has made me question using this service again.
