Good location, good value, excellent facility.

I highly recommend Kotoha Umamachi to anybody visiting Kyoto. The facility is very clean, seems like it was renovated or remodeled recently. It is located on a quiet side street in the southern Higashiyama neighborhood. Don't be worried by its proximity to a busy road and an overpass, it is a quiet area. I stayed in a double room, it came with a kitchenette and a washing machine for laundry in the room. Very convenient! Value for money was also excellent.

申し分ありません

清潔でした。とても静かでよく眠れましたし、設備も十分で快適に過ごしました。できれば、洗面器がバスルームにあれば便利だったと思います。（泡のついた手を洗い流してからコックをひねりたいです）チェックインも、チェックアウトも問題なくできました。とてもリーズナブルでした。

It is spaciuos, comfortable and clean. That was what I like most. The only thing I dislike is that it provides only one thin pillow per person and refuse to provide one more even if I'm willing to pay extra.

PCがはじ始め全て中国語になっていて驚き、自分で変えられる範囲は変えましたが肝心の所が変わらず。深夜なので一人で格闘！イライラ！。対応の時間帯で変えて貰えましたが、スタッフしか触れない範囲でありました。。日本人が泊まるのに何故中国語？それにしても此処ばかりでなく都内でもレストランのメニューが外国語になっていたりで自国なのに住みにくい。

Very nice guest house

This was a very nice guest house in a really fantastic location. Walking distance to a lot of really great places, and close to several bus stops that get where you want to go in Kyoto. It IS a guest house, not a hotel, so there is not really a "front desk" and there's not any sort of daily maid cleaning or anything. For us the only challenge with that was timing check in, and if your room is ready you can check in early for 1,000 yen. And then after you're checked in, you're pretty much on your own in a tiny apartment in Kyoto! We were worried about the location being so close to a major overpass, but our room literally faced it and we heard nothing ever. Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend it!

Really good!!!

My wife and I spent two nights in Kotoha Kiyomizu Guest House and we were really positively surprised. Positive points: hotel team, service that they offer (trunk delivery), clean room with new furnitures. Point to be improved: a better explantion how to find the guest house, as it is located in a small street next to a bridge.

居心地良好

自炊や洗濯ができることに魅かれて、こういった宿泊所を初めて利用し、3泊しましたが、居心地良く、家のように過ごせました。有難かった備品は備え付けのPC（テレビ兼）、多めのハンガー、物干しハンガー（小）、二口コンロ、やかん、マグカップ（2個）、鍋敷き、ドライヤー。偏食息子のための自炊もできましたし、洗濯しまくりました（笑）お風呂場の暖房やテレビ等設備も上々。Free WiFiも快適。ゴミ箱も仕分けられるように複数あり、いっぱいになれば回収してもらえましたし、リネン類も必要に応じてもらえました。敢えて難を言えば、駐車場が無いことや近くにスーパーが無いことでしょうか。でも、荷物の積み下ろし時には停めさせてもらえましたし、バス停は近いし、大谷さんや清水寺が近いし、問題なし。スタッフさんも感じが良かったです。コスパもいいですし、ぜひまた利用させて頂きたいです。

Great option for long stays

I really enjoy staying here, as it is basically like renting a small Japanese apartment. Unless I'm only staying someplace for a few days I prefer accommodations like this, with a kitchen and washing machine. The small veranda with sliding doors is also nice, as guests are able to enjoy fresh air, unlike most modern hotels where you have no choice but to breath recirculated air. The staff here are also very nice, and made our stay even more enjoyable! If you're new to Japan, and especially if you're only visiting Kyoto for a few days, you would probably be better off just staying in a regular hotel, but if you're already familiar with this country, and especially for long stays, this guesthouse is an excellent option.

Great choice in Kyoto!

The guesthouse is awesome and so convenient. Everything is really modern and streamlined too. The check in was an ease and the room was simple yet had a lot of amenities. It was great to do laundry in our own room!

Sauber und freundlich

Empfehlenswerte Unterkunft für einen längeren Aufenthalt in Kyoto. Dank Mikrowelle und Waschmaschine kann man auch problemlos mal was selbst machen und waschen. Extrem sauber und sehr freundliches Personal. Fahrräder können für 500 bzw. 700 ¥ gemietet werden für 24h. Gion ist zudem auch gut zu Fuss erreichbar

Great stay!

Guesthouse is within walking distance of main attractions and also has a bus stop nearby. Staff was very friendly upon arrival. The apartment is clean and comfortable. We didn't understand why there wasn't any cutlery or crockery in the kitchen. It appeared that you rent this for a small fee at reception. We'll definitely recommend staying at this guesthouse.
