Walkable from the bus station about less than ten minutes. It's a self checkin so they will email you a code, very easy to check in. Hotel was central and right across from the grand bath. They gave me a card to access and it was great. Bathroom is clean in the hotel room. But I would recommend using the grand bath. The room itself was clean, bed a bit hard but i was only there to sleep. Just be aware you will smell the sulfur. But more like a lingering sent. Overall it's a good hotel I would stay again.

Cheaper online reservation
By online reservation, I could stay there much cheaper than direct reservation. The condition has become better than before, and I could enjoy this hotel with hotsprings.

Pros: Rooms cost half the price of daiichi takimotokan across the road, but we can use its grand bath for free. The hotel also has its own bath in the basement.
The location is super convenient, and is very close to Jigokudani.
There are 2 washers and 2 dryers provided which are very useful for travellers.
Cons: There was a recent renovation, but I don't think the rooms were renovated much. The furniture show some wear and tear, and the amenities (such as switches) are distinctly old school.
The public bath in the basement is very old and grimy-looking, which put me off.
The 2 washers and 2 dryers are not enough when there are many guests. I was there at an off-peak time, and already I had to queue and wait for a few hours to use them.

Excellent service and very helpful staff. The only thing I think can be improved is a wider space for the toilet inside the room.

Onsen pavilion
Staffs are friendly.
Beds are fine.
Bathroom is scary, but it’s ok because you get to use the wonderful Daiichi Takimoto’s giant Onsen bath pavilion and swimming pool for free.

The bathroom is rather small. Location wise, it’s near Hell Valley and there’s a good sashimi restaurant nearby.

If you can't book Daichi Takimoto, get the Inn.
Wanted to book the Daichi Takimoto Hotel but it is fully book, so if you can't get it it's probably worth to book the takimoto Inn. basically clean with basic amenities free 3 small welcome sweets my son ate it all, it come with free access to the onsen area at daichi takimoto which is their sister company. The bed is good, dinner is surprisingly yummy, bfast is simple. One thing is the heater in the room cannot be control which make the room very hot n stuffy. We stayed during Jan. Shout out for the professional attitude to the man that serve us while check in, smooth fast n detailed. Bought the bear park ticket from the hotel which is cheaper too.

Terrible Rooms! Migrane from heater sound!
My biggest peeve is that from 9pm+ well into past midnight, there was a very loud clanking sound. I thought it came from outside someone was sawing some wood or throwing garbage or doing some work. Little did I realise that it was from the heater in the room!!! Gave me a massive migraine, and shot my blood pressure up from the massive noise which took me the next morning to shake it off. Called the front desk and guy couldnt speak English n say sorry n put down the phone. I tried to bear with it but really couldnt. Went to reception n changed rooms at 1am.
Also: Light outside initial room was blown out (so dark). Toilet needs a makeover cos rusty/dirty grout. Walls are dirty.
Room has no aircon, only an automated heating machine and the room is SOOOO HOT!! It was like a sauna! So I had to open the room window. And only then the room temp became manageable.
Breakfast ends by 8.30am.. So good luck if you’re on vacation and want to sleep in.
Only positives:
Mr Kuro gave me really good directions to get back to Sapporo by bus.
Place is near to Jigokudani- 5min walk.
Dinner half-board- the salmon sashimi is really good!
Overall, the place really needs a facelift. Majorly.

Not a very idea place to stay
Not a very good location. Other than the public bath, there isn't much to do.
Room has the weird sulfur smell. Suspect it was used for heating.
Unable to turn off the heater, thus the room was extremely hot
