Hostel with high tech gimmickry
Guess my expectations were off. I assumed a capsule type hotel, but rather found it to be a hostel with poor ergonomics and high tech gimmicks. iPod controlled folding bed and unit shade didn’t work quite well and lots of spaces for stuff to fall through. Bed was great and earplugs a super idea. Kitchen was also very good. And free beer did hit the spot.

Great location and staff
The hotel was located in the heart of Kyoto with easy access to the metro and the main areas of the city with many tourist attractions. The staff were also very fluent in English and very helpful. The hotel was clean and the pods were spacious. You have enough space to put your luggage underneath the bed and be able to access your luggage without getting into your neighbour's space. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Kyoto and looking for a slightly cheaper alternative to a traditional hotel.

Excellent Queen size bed Cabin experience!
It is great for solo travellers as well as for a group of people. The bed has a great size and one feels almos like ''having a room''. The Kitchen and common areas are lovely and they organize ''happy hour'' and guests gather together. There are people from all ages and travelling solo as well as couples and big groups of friends.

Great for solo travelers!
Great place to stay as a solo traveler!! Female only floor was very quiet, although it was very easy to hear anyone rustling around with bags/luggage. I enjoyed being able to lock my pod, and it was neat to have an iPod to adjust the lighting and bed elevation as desired. Bathrooms and common area were very cozy and welcoming. I loved that one of the shower stalls had a bathtub! Located in a wonderful neighborhood - lots of food and shopping nearby. Overall, a really great experience and I highly recommend people stay here if they're looking for a cheap and comforting place to stay!
