Stayed as a family with my 11 year old daughter. We were comfortable and loved the location, proximity to the old jail and castle, and the character and history of the hostel.

I had an amazing experience at Stirling youth hostel! It's a 5 minute walk from Stirling castle and old time jail, as well as from lots of shops and restaurants. Very conveniently located. The staff were the best part. Everybody was so helpful and personable, especially Hamish! So glad I chose to stay here!

Budget friendly basic place to stay
Staff was friendly and overall experience very nice. It was me with two teenagers and private room. Very basic, just as described. The shower was the only minus, because as it was attached to the roof, it was very difficult to wash downstairs. Good place to stay when viditing around Scotland. Would go again! Hotels.com says you can pay arriving but that is not the case. I got a message from hostel that i need to pay forward.

It was ok. Friendly well mannered staff. Good kitchen and dining area. shared a room with four men. There were only two lockers and the floor was unbearably creaky. I mean every step creaked really loudly. Totally spoiled the experience for me Room 211 sort it out! And a few hooks attached to the wall or even the bed would be so usefull.

Twin room was tired, i have stayed here before in a 4 man room which was much better, the shower was powerful but only luke warm also i could not get WiFi signal in the room, went to a local pub for tea and downloaded some films.
Not the staffs fault at all just needs management to throw some money at it.
