Derby City Centre

Derby City Centre captures centuries of history through its impressive cathedral spires and well-preserved Georgian buildings. Stroll along cobblestone streets to discover the Silk Mill, the world's first factory, or catch a show at the Victorian-era Derby Theatre. Most attractions are within a 10-minute walk of each other, with excellent rail connections to London and other major cities just steps away.

Pride Park

Pride Park combines business buzz with sporting thrills. The district centers around the impressive iPro Stadium where Derby County's matches draw roaring crowds. Modern glass office towers and the Derby Enterprise Centre create a sleek commercial landscape. After work hours, the area transforms during match days when football fans take over the district's bars and restaurants. Getting around is easy with the Pride Park & Wilmorton bus station and nearby Derby railway station. Business travellers will find comfortable chain hotels with all the modern amenities. While shopping options are limited to stadium merchandise and convenience stores, the district's clean, well-maintained environment makes it perfect for corporate visitors.

Spend your day bouncing between the soaring Derby Cathedral and the fascinating collections at Derby Museum and Art Gallery. The QUAD arts centre adds a modern splash to this historic backdrop, while the Guildhall Theatre hosts intimate performances that'll make you feel like a local. The Gothic spires of Derby Cathedral create a dramatic backdrop to pedestrianised streets lined with retailers and corner cafés. Derbion shopping centre anchors the commercial district, while nearby Derby Museum and Art Gallery offers a cultural escape. The area boasts diverse dining from quick lunch spots to upscale restaurants serving traditional British fare. Hotels cater primarily to business travellers, though boutique properties offer character. The quarter's excellent connectivity with Derby bus station nearby makes exploring the city a breeze.

Leonardo Hotel East Midlands Airport

Leonardo Hotel East Midlands Airport

8/10 Good
"It was perfect for our very short stay before an early flight. Short walk to the terminal. I think the trick is to park wherever you are leaving the car the night before. I know you then have to lug your luggage, but the hotel really is close to the terminal and it’s one less thing to worry about and factor in extra time for. My big mistake was booking meet and greet, which was closed, I was then stuck and had to exit through short term car park which cost me £6 for a minute."

B&B HOTEL Derby

10/10 Excellent
"We had a lovely stay. Very friendly and helpful. We had a accessibility room because of my walking difficulties. And it was very big and well maintained. Only thing wrong in that bathroom was where the bin was as a disabled person I found it very hard to go under the sink and put my rubbish in the little bin. Maybe leave it near the toilet or out in the open so it's easier to reach. One other thing is maybe have 2 pillows on the bed. Our room had 1 pillow each we had to ask for extra. Everything else was wonderful. Breakfast was a basic buffet breakfast they are all the same, but it had plenty of choice. Fresh orange was very nice too. Will stay again. And we notice they have these hotels in different countries so may try them out in a different country. Well done everyone at Derby..."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Derby

  1. Book for the cheapest times: The period from January to March is an affordable time to visit Derby, as hotel prices may drop to lower prices. For a comprehensive exploration of the city's key landmarks, historical sites, and cultural attractions—including friendlypeople, archaeology, smalltown, historical, spa, bar, and football—a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended as great value for money.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To discover last-minute deals to Derby, begin by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals section on Hotels.com, where you may find discounted rates on nearby hotels as your travel date approaches. By enabling email alerts or push notifications, you could stay informed about flash sales and special promotions, ensuring you don't overlook savings opportunities. Additionally, you can utilise Smart Shopping, a comparison tool within the Hotels.com app that helps you compare hotel prices and amenities. This way, if room availability changes or prices drop, you'll be among the first to know, making it easier to book a spontaneous getaway.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may vary based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and time of year, so having some flexibility with your dates could help you save on your stay at a Derby hotel. For those seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels can offer a more personalised touch and may sometimes provide better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates appears to be above or below average. If it seems to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could help you secure a more attractive rate.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive; however, thanks to Derby's excellent public transport links, you might discover a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well connected. For those wishing to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations can provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
