Bellagio's Historic Centre dazzles with medieval charm and jaw-dropping Lake Como views that'll make your Instagram followers weep with envy. The 12th-century San Giacomo Basilica stands proudly in the town centre while Villa Serbelloni's terraced gardens offer the perfect backdrop for your "living my best life" moments. Wander through narrow cobblestone streets lined with silk shops and discover La Punta Spartivento's panoramic lookout. Ferry connections keep you linked to Como and nearby towns when you're ready to explore beyond the centre. Most restaurants serve refined Lombard cuisine with fresh lake fish, perfect after a day of strolling the waterfront promenades. Pack comfortable shoes—those picturesque medieval streets come with some serious hillside terrain.

Pescallo
Pescallo welcomes you with a dreamy lakeside charm that feels miles away from tourist crowds. Traditional Lucia boats bob in the tiny harbour while medieval stone houses cascade down to Lake Como's azure waters. You can wander narrow cobblestone paths, swim in crystal-clear spots, or simply soak up mountain views along the scenic promenade. The hamlet's single family-run trattoria serves fresh lake fish and homemade pasta on a lovely outdoor terrace. Accommodation range from intimate B&Bs to converted fishermen's houses with lake views. Getting around is strictly on foot—a peaceful 10-minute lakeside walk connects you to Bellagio's centre.

San Giovanni
San Giovanni delivers an authentic slice of Lake Como magic away from Bellagio's bustling centre. Wander cobblestone lanes past pastel villas and discover the 17th-century church with its weathered bell tower. The neighborhood's terraced gardens cascade to crystal-clear waters where stone steps lead straight to swimming spots that tourists rarely find. Villa Melzi Gardens offers peaceful respite among Mediterranean flora. Family-run trattorias serve fresh lake fish and regional Lombard specialities right at the water's edge. Accommodation range from historic villa conversions to intimate bed & breakfasts with traditional furnishings and lake views. Getting around is best done on foot—just a 10-minute walk from central Bellagio—or via water taxi from the charming lakefront.

Loppia
Loppia offers a slice of authentic Italian village life on the shores of Lake Como. Stone houses with terracotta roofs and flower-filled balconies create a timeless charm away from Bellagio's tourist centre. Villa Melzi gardens border this peaceful hamlet, showcasing neoclassical architecture alongside scenic waterfront paths perfect for taking in those dreamy Alpine views. You'll need to stroll to Bellagio centre for diverse dining options beyond the local osteria serving lake fish and regional Lombard cuisine. Small family-run guesthouses and private rentals provide intimate accommodation with genuine Italian hospitality. The area is highly walkable with limited public transport connecting to Bellagio just a 10-minute walk away.

Regatola
Regatola offers a quiet escape from Bellagio's tourist buzz with lakeside charm and stunning mountain views. Narrow cobblestone streets wind between pastel-colored buildings where laundry flutters in the breeze. Villa Melzi Gardens sits nearby, perfect for afternoon strolls through manicured grounds when you need a nature fix. The neighborhood's authentic vibe gives travellers a genuine taste of Lake Como living. Dining means a short walk to Bellagio's centre, though you might discover a family-run trattoria serving local lake fish specialities. Small B&Bs and converted villa guesthouses provide intimate accommodation options with lake views. Getting around is best done on foot via scenic lakeside paths, with water taxis available from nearby docks.

Hotel Belvedere
"Amazing hotel… 100/10"
Locanda della Maria
"Lovely stay, beautiful rooms, delicious apple strudel, Laura very helpful and welcoming."
Hotel Excelsior Splendide
"Excellent hotel in Bellagio. Great value. We booked a room with view of the lake. It was so beautiful. The room seem to have gone some remodeling. It looked so much better than the pictures on Hotel.com. The AC was very good. It was so hot outside in the beginning of August. We look forward to going back to our room at the end of the day. The ferry gates were also nearby. I highly recommend this hotel."
Borgo Le Terrazze
"Gorgeous!! Nice breakfast and sweet service but go for the view"
Charming Bellagio Boutique Hotel
"Location is super walkable. Pool area is very relaxing and welcome during the summer time. Staff was amazing with a packed lunch on our last day due to an early departure."
Grand Hotel Villa Serbelloni
"We stayed here for four nights —-booked two rooms for our family. Some of the highlights include: 1) great, fantastic location which is short walking distance to ferry, shops and restaurants. 2) we enjoyed the breakfast buffet, and beautiful swimming pool every day. 3) super comfortable beds and well air conditioned rooms. 4) staffs at the breakfast, pool and concierge are super attentive, warm and helpful. The concierge booked a private boat tour for us and provided useful advices on day trips and ferry schedules. The only and the biggest low light was that the casual restaurant (La Goletta) was super disappointing. The food was boring, plain, and poorly prepared . The restaurant waiters were cold and stern. Given the price, the restaurant felt way below our expectation. Recommend to stay at the hotel but eat elsewhere."
Andirivieni Bellagio Guest House
"The breakfast garden and view. The staff, Eileen (sp?) was wonderful and super helpful!!"
Hotel Don Ferrante
"We had a lovely view from the balcony in our room. The breakfast was delicious too!"
Diamond Apartments
"Staff was excellent, building was in a fantastic location, Babayaga next door was a great spot for a quick bite. Only downside was the price but seemed on par with everything else on the island, so with that said I’d take this over some of the other offerings all things considered."
