Taormina City Centre
Taormina City Centre enchants with medieval streets and showstopping views of Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea. The ancient Greek Theatre offers a dramatic backdrop for summer performances, while Corso Umberto buzzes with high-end boutiques and outdoor cafés. Piazza IX Aprile serves up the perfect sunset spot where locals and travellers gather for aperitivo. Upscale restaurants dish out Sicilian specialities like arancini and fresh seafood throughout the pedestrian-friendly historic district. Most accommodation feature terraces with panoramic views, though they command premium prices. The steep cobblestone streets favour walking, with shuttle buses connecting to parking areas below town.

Mazzaro
Mazzaro's beach paradise captures Sicily's coastal magic at its finest. Crystal-clear turquoise waters lap against a pebble shoreline while dramatic limestone cliffs create a stunning natural backdrop. The iconic cable car whisks you up to Taormina in just two minutes, offering breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea. Beach clubs and natural swimming spots around Isola Bella provide perfect sunbathing spots. Upscale waterfront restaurants serve fresh seafood and Sicilian specialities on elegant sea-view terraces. Luxury hotels cascade down the cliffs with infinity pools and private beach access. The compact area is easily walkable along the waterfront promenade, though steep terrain can make some paths challenging.

Spisone
Spisone's pristine pebble beaches and turquoise waters create a peaceful escape from bustling Taormina. Dramatic cliffs and Mediterranean vegetation frame intimate swimming coves, while coastal paths wind past ancient rock formations. Snorkelling enthusiasts will discover vibrant marine life around rocky outcrops, and photographers can capture stunning views of Isola Bella. Family-run trattorias serve fresh seafood and authentic Sicilian dishes, with most places closing by sunset. Accommodation range from holiday rentals to boutique hotels with sea views and terraces. The steep coastal terrain makes walking challenging but rewards with breathtaking vistas, while limited bus service connects to central Taormina.

Learn more about Taormina
Ancient Greek ruins stand sentinel above the Ionian Sea, where the Teatro Antico offers views that might make you forget there's a performance scheduled. Corso Umberto buzzes with cafes where locals debate which gelateria truly deserves your euros. Take the aerial tramway down to Isola Bella, a tiny island nature reserve where the pebbled beach demands proper footwear but rewards with crystalline waters. The Piazza IX April serves as an open-air living room where everyone gathers at sunset. After climbing narrow medieval streets, reward yourself with pasta alla Norma and cannoli that make a compelling argument against ever leaving Sicily. The San Giorgio Theatre hosts performances in a setting so intimate you'll feel part of the production.

UNA Hotels Capotaormina
"The lido, beach & rock coves & pool, at the hotel was phenomenal!! To me this is what sets this hotel apart in Taormina. You have your own private haven with gorgeous views and crystal clear water, as well as an easy and delicious pool and beach casual restaurant & the lovely Le Grand Bleu if you’d like to have a proper full dining experience. Don’t miss dining there for dinner! Our newly renovated room was fantastic and clean and comfy, great bed - our best in our 15 night stay touring all over Sicily. Do not book one of the un-renovated rooms, I did originally and it was not a good experience with a broken shower head and door that would not properly lock (which the staff quickly attended to fixing, but I wasn’t happy with that room) - however, I was grateful to Giancarlo, the guest relations manager, who met with me after I raised concerns about the room and upgraded us as I hold status on Expedia and a guest cancelled their reservation- the hotel was fully booked. Giancarlo’s generosity in upgrading us changed my whole perspective of the hotel, and because of this and the amazing lido & food, I would absolutely book time and again any future trip I am lucky enough it to visit the magical Taormina! Thank you UNA Capotaormina!!"
Splendid Hotel Taormina - Handwritten Collection

Hotel Ariston & Palazzo Santa Caterina
"Parking is a puzzle but that is nothing new in Italy"
Hotel Villa Sirina
"Old Italian charm, rarity at this price point"
Eurostars Monte Tauro
"This hotel is situated just on the edge of the main city on an unbelievably beautiful cliff in Taormina overlooking the beaches and bays below. Really breathtaking views - highly recommend splurging for the balcony. The pool was also very pretty, though we did not end up eating or drinking poolside. The bedrooms/bathrooms were pretty basic, but clean. Breakfast was not included, but at 22 euro, we did not partake. ***The one thing to note - the entrance to the hotel is at the bottom of an incredibly steep, roughly 250 foot-long hill. I'm talking 30-40 degree incline. There are stairs in the center of the road, but it's a hike. Like, we were out of breath every time we left the hotel. I couldn't recommend this hotel to anybody with mobility issues that is not planning on being driven from the hotel entrance every time they travel.*** But the views are unbeatable."
NH Collection Taormina
"This was in every aense the 5-star hotel that NH is known for. Fantastic room, helpful reception personnel and seamless valet parking!"
Hotel Villa Belvedere
"Amazing, helpful staff"
San Domenico Palace, Taormina, A Four Seasons Hotel
"This was one of the best experiences we’ve had, and really appreciate the staff at this beautiful hotel. The space is lovely, as are the rooms. The location is incredible and the views can’t be beat. Finally, the team there were so helpful and genuinely invested in our comfort. They went way out of their way to accommodate vegan diets and did an incredible incredible job. Easily in the top 5 of our hotel experiences and could be the top spot. Highly recommended!"
Mazzarò Sea Palace - The Leading Hotels of the World
"This beautiful hotel is a gem on the Mediterranean Sea. The staff is incredibly kind, polite, helpful and charming. The food is excellent. The dinner at Blum is one of the finest meals I have ever had. The room and view was perfect. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the magical Taormina."
