To begin with, they charged my card 50% upon booking when I selected a pay-nothing-upfront option. Neither the property or hotels.com would do anything about it, and both blamed one another.
Upon arrival we were left outside waiting for half an hour after being given the wrong door code while receiving texts saying they were on the way. Another guest gave us the door code.
It looks nothing like the photos - they must have taken them years ago. We got there and furniture was missing, there were no towels, stained sheets, the shower was moldy and gross and didn't drain. They left a family of 4 with 3 rolls of toilet paper for 3 nights. Staff were nowhere to be found until checkout when we no longer needed them.
The kitchen was nice to have, but the items provided were bare minimum. We didn't have a broom, and if I hadn't asked for a drying rack upon check in, we wouldn't have been able to do laundry. The "beds" are uncomfortable.
The windows didn't stay open well, and there was nothing preventing a fall, so it was absolutely dangerous to have them open. It looked like the smoke detector was removed? The walls and ceilings are paper thin and you can hear neighbors talking all hours of the night. The neighborhood was relatively quiet though, for central London. And it felt safe.
The lift was broken, so we had to walk up about 80 steps to get to our room on the 5th floor.
This was the "superior apartment" but there was nothing superior about it 3/10
