The hotel is very convenient to everything! The trains, state street shopping and Millennium Park are all a short walk. The hotel itself is in a historic building so it smelled a little smoky in the lobby but the lobby area and the guest rooms were clean and well appointed. The front desk staff helpful & Regina was especially helpful even though our room wasn’t ready until check in, she gave suggestions on local things to do.

The hotel is located in a great part of Chicago, in the theater district and within walking distance of other attractions such as The Art Institute, Cloud Gate (the "Bean") and parks as well as the former Marshall Field department store, now a Macy's flagship store. Shopping and restaurants are in the neighborhood, including the Berghoff, a classic German restaurant with a great history.

Really odd hotel to stay at. Staff were very nice. Horrible room on the 6th floor. Tiny window, badly needs updating. Incredibly dark, even with all the lights on in the middle of the day. Felt like a prison. Breakfast area is very small and easily congested. Elevators are very busy and so slow. I’d 100% recommend to stay anywhere else. Easily the worst hotel I’ve stayed at in 25+ years!
