It was my best experience at a hotel yet
I really enjoyed my stay here. Firstly, the hotel itself is beautiful, classy, and has a good vibe to it. The front desk staff provide exceptional service. I had a brief conversation with the head manager of room janitorial; he was both funny and very friendly. Check in was simple and quick. I stayed on the 4th floor. My room had all the amenities as described. Bed was comfortable. The hotel close by Lake Michigan and city so I was able to jog in the morning with the beautiful views. I would totally recommend staying here for anyone who’s thinking of visiting Chicago.

I've stayed at the Knickerbocker several times in the past and never had a problem. This time there were a few "maintenance/comfort" type issues: - The only phone in the room did not work - The pillows were horribly lumpy and stiff. Requested feather pillows but was told they didn't have them. - The seal at the bottom of the shower door wasn't secure so after showering, the entire bathroom floor

Probably Covid’s fault but still wouldn’t return.
Check in was relatively easy - but everything after was just blah. I suppose it could be due to the pandemic, but either way the facility was not kept very well it seemed. I’m fairly confident no one was cleaning room hallways or conducting room service in any way. There was a rolled up towel on the hall floor for all three days I was there. I couldn’t adjust the temp in the room so I had to physically open the window just to sleep. There could not have been many people in the hotel and yet somehow I had patrons on either side of my room and the walls didn’t do much to mask / middle sound. All in all I assume most of this is due to lower patron count and therefore lower staff count etc, but still the actual room and the function of it was sub par - I left a night early and would never stay here again. The pictures associated with this listing on were misleading at best.

The staff was kind of rude, and I didn’t appreciate the way the gentleman talked to me and my fiancé

Would not recommend
This place was awful. It’s an outdated building that needs renovation. The rooms are small and cluttered and smell bad.

Beautiful and Wonderfully Located
Only stayed one night but the hotel was wonderful. Room was a bit small but for just two people it was fine. Location was perfect. Quick drive to everything downtown and was right in the middle of the Magnificent Mile so easy walking distance for shopping and great restaurants. The hotel itself was charming and beautiful looking like a piece of the 1920s without feeling outdated.

Great Place to Stay
Front desk people were very nice and helpful. The room was very clean and big. Seemed quiet we couldn’t hear other guests. The hotel was very nice and parking was combined right across the street. Will definitely be staying there again with a deal like this! (It’s $50 for over night parking for the closest place) keep that in mind!
