Hotel Nikko Princess Kyoto - Kyoto
Very Good8.0
The Nikko is a nice hotel, very well situated in the center of Kyoto, only 2 short blocks from the Subway station. Property is clean, quiet, well maintained. Rooms are a bit on the small side...bathroom is large but you give it up in the rest of the room. Service is outstanding, staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is standard buffet fare, but not overdone.

English is not their preferred guest
I found difficulty with the communication at the hotel. Some of the staff become rude due to the lack of understanding. Hence wasting a lot of time. I understand I’m in their backyard but I’m also fertilising their economy so please don’t be disrespectful. Especially when it’s not the way they have been brought up.

Bang for the buck and great location
Hotel Nikko Princess is a great location for a visit to Kyoto. Very central, close to transit, easy access to cabs from doormen. Would definitely stay here again.

Very happy staying here
Location was great for me. Proximity to places was ideal for short cab rides tho I walked alot. This is different than staying right next to train station. But only there for weekend so only 3-4 locations were on my list to visit. Hotel was very nicely decorated for Christmas. Pretty lobby and staff were courteous beyond measure.
