The room we were given was not cleaned after previous guest, so we got assigned new room. The new room was fine. Only one elevator of two was working, and it was extremely slow. Building is ongoing renovation. It was very hot in the room. Location was good and central. Bed was comfortable.

The construction in the building definitely does not help with the travel experience right now. Only one elevator accessible with no lounge area for guests to wait out their departure times after check in is not helpful as construction workers prohibit a lot of areas for guests to access due to safety reasons. They require the hostel guest to do more (such as make your own bed sheets, covers, etc.) as compared to some other hostels who already have all that done for you by housekeeping upon arrival. Bed frames and room was nice and with newer furniture. Washroom was a decent size as well to accommodate everything. (Full shower, toilet and sink) Despite being in a "noisier" area, I do feel safe living in such a space. Also the convenience of the property being right next to the train station outweighs a lot of the cons.

Location is very convenient, since the hostel is in front of the central station, and walking distance to a street full of terraces and shops. The hostel staff was kind and helpful. The room was ok, but the bathroom had a mild bad smell, and in the morning there was a moth there. The shower’s water pressure is very low, and at some point the water just stopped running, I had to wait a couple of minutes before it started running again. It was noisy outside the room in the morning, I guess because my room was close to the elevator. The hostel has a storage room for luggage, though they don’t put any label on it, so there’s really no control if people are taking their own stuff. Thankfully my luggage was there when I went to pick it up. I paid 140 euros for one night at an individual room, I expected better for that price.

Incredible location - across the street from centraal station and within 5 minutes walking of another major bus stop (both are perfect for day trips to places like Bruges, Ghent, etc.) staff is great. Very cute piano in the breakfast area that I enjoyed playing every day. Very much a no-frills European hotel room. Small, but very serviceable. I felt safe and relaxed there.

Facilities in room were fine with decent bathroom and curtains on dorm beds. Given linen at check in so need to make your own bed. Some people in the dorm didn't bother putting pillow case and duvet cover on so unsure how clean beds can be. Shared a dorm with 3 men which didn't feel very nice as a solo female. Terrible snorers and awful coughing meant I didn't sleep well. Very noisy location through the night with ambulances and shouting. Not really any common areas to sit during the day.
