I arrived in the morning, and I had expected to just drop off my bags and go about my day until check in. But the were able to find me a room and I was able to get it, and be able to drop off everything, take a nice shower and then go about my day. Only downside was the ice machine was down. This was a great place to be in the heart of the city. The parking was convenient if you don’t need in-and-out access. The location was walkable and in reach of Yerba Buena, Salesforce Park, Union Square, MoMA. We were in the city for the symphony, and we walked there. At night there was a lot of street noise, but besides that, the room was lovely.

For the price I paid for the weekend, it was a good value. The area is convenient and close to public transportation and local attractions, which made getting around easy. I had no issues with the hotel itself, although there were more homeless people in the surrounding area than I expected. My only complaint was that I wish housekeeping was available later than 2 PM, as that felt a little early. Overall, though, for the price and location, I had a good stay.

I stayed for 12 days and it made for a nice home base. The timing of when the staff came in an cleaned or made up the bed was not a set schedule even though they gave notice they would only came in once a week. I think someone came in every other day. Everything was clean enough. It would have been nice if there were more hand towels in the room. The in bathroom toiletries were good. All in all it was a good stay.

The Pickwick offers great value to families visiting San Francisco. The hotel is close enough to walk to Oracle Park. The area surrounding the hotel is fine. You can walk to Target and Trader Joe’s. The hotel is older but has charm. Don’t expect everything to be perfect and you’ll be happy. Also the breakfast add-on was fantastic and totally worth the money. The cafe next to the hotel provided a wonderful menu. It was an absolute treat that exceeded our expectations.

This is a traditional hotel which could use an upgrade but is clean and safe, and has a very helpful staff. The location is excellent if you want to stay downtown, near BART, MUNI, and the cable car. Lots of interesting museums in the area. At a very reasonable price.
