Learn more about Haarlem

Between Amsterdam and the North Sea, this Dutch gem offers a perfect day of wandering. The cobblestone streets of Grote Markt lead to the towering Gothic St. Bavo Church, while the Frans Hals Museum showcases Golden Age masterpieces by the city's famous son. Jopenkerk brewery serves craft beers in a converted church – sacrilicious and delicious. The Teylers Museum fascinates with centuries-old scientific instruments that still look futuristic. Duck into the Corrie ten Boom House for a sobering reminder of wartime resistance. After shopping the boutique-lined streets that earned 'best shopping city' honours, settle at a canalside café where locals debate whether Amsterdam deserves all that tourist attention.

10/10 Excellent
"I loved the staff and the cleanliness of this hotel. The location was perfect for exploring and the hotel bar was good without being over the top expensive. The only negative is that we were supposed to get 20% off food and beverage once per stay through Expedia. However they should tell you it’s not redeemable in the restaurant. Only the bar or Illys coffee shop. We left it until the last morning and couldn’t use it. The coffee shop and bar were closed. Anyway just a heads up. We had a very enjoyable stay though. They got us in the room early as we arrived at 10:00 in the morning and were very jet lagged. I would most definitely recommend to anyone !"

During your visit, you can enjoy the city's museums, monuments, and cathedrals, as well as the charming cafes and dining options that offer great value for money. Additionally, consider biking around to soak in the rich history and vibrant culture that Haarlem has to offer.
  2. Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: You may discover attractive hotel deals in Haarlem by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window section on Hotels.com. For those considering a spontaneous escape, the Last-Minute Deals section could prove useful, as it offers discounted options near your travel date. Moreover, the Smart Shopping tool available via the app assists travellers in comparing hotel prices and amenities, helping you stay informed about potential savings while keeping track of your preferred properties.
  3. Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate based on various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates might help you find a more favourable rate for your stay in a Haarlem hotel. For those seeking something distinctive, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we'll inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could help you find a more advantageous rate.
  4. Consider your location: Hotels nearer to the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Haarlem's excellent public transport links, you may find an independent hotel further afield that is more likely to be affordable while still being well connected. For those wishing to explore alternative, less congested neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
