The Lamb Inn Great Rissington
"The breakfast was ok not great It was a bit dark in the breakfast room As the nicer room Was being used by a regular person who was going to have a meeting so I felt we had been left with a dark breakfast room Which was very dark and somewhat disappointing. We had paid for bed and Breakfast . It would have been far nicer in the dining room we had our meal in the previous night."
Cheltenham Chase Hotel & Spa
"Really nice hotel . Very welcoming of us with our dog. Highly recommended"
The Slaughters Country Inn
"The Inn is set in a very pretty location. The textiles in the room are in much need of updating; however, they are very comfortable rooms. The bathroom was large and adequately stocked. We had a large room, but there were people above us that made so much noise it made sleep very difficult. The staff were very nice and helpful. Both this property and the Manor house across the street have been acquired recently by a new company. I do hope this company will do everything it can to improve the food in the restaurant at the Inn. It Desperately needs a real bar. Thank goodness we were able to go across the street to The Manor to have our meals and cocktails there. As there is nothing to do in Lower Slaughter, you have to drive everywhere if you want any type of nighttime activity. It is ideal for a one night stay; however, we were there for three nights."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Cheltenham
- Book for the cheapest times: Visiting Cheltenham on a budget is a great value for money, especially during the months of January, February, and December when hotel prices might drop to lower prices. To take in the town's rich cultural heritage and historical landmarks, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is ideal. During your visit, immerse yourself in the local small-town charm through sightseeing, friendly people, guided tours, and enjoy cultural experiences such as musicals, jazz, and visits to historic gardens.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: You may discover the best hotel deals in Cheltenham by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window section on Hotels.com. Additionally, the Smart Shopping tool on the app is a handy resource to compare hotel prices and amenities, helping you stay updated on any room availability and price drops. Enable email alerts or push notifications to be among the first to learn of flash sales and other opportunities to book a last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate based on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates could help you find a better deal on your stay in a Cheltenham hotel. For those in search of something distinctive, boutique hotels can provide a more personalised experience and potentially better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we’ll inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest more affordable dates to assist you in discovering a more favourable rate.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, yet thanks to Cheltenham's excellent public transport links, you might find a more affordable independent hotel further afield that remains well connected. For those wishing to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money. Opting for these alternative destinations might provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
