Lake George and related destinations
Adirondack mountains frame the crystal-clear waters where vintage steamboats chug past wooded islands like floating postcards come to life. Million Dollar Beach offers swimming with a view that actually lives up to its name. Fort William Henry Museum brings colonial battles to life without the actual musket fire. The House of Frankenstein Wax Museum and Dr. Morbid's Haunted House provide delightfully kitschy scares even on sunny afternoons. Six Flags Great Escape delivers roller coaster thrills when lake activities aren't enough. Adirondack Winery pours local vintages in a tasting room where conversations flow as freely as the wine. Come summer, the shoreline buzzes with families licking ice cream cones, but autumn's fiery foliage reflected in the lake might be the real showstopper.

"Simple rooms"
Adirondack Retreat Inn & Suites
"Check in was a breeze. We had a room with a jacuzzi tub. One must realize that this property as well as most of the lakeside motels are old. The room had knotty pine walls and big beams. Great old fashioned vibe. There was a nice closet and some built in drawers as well as a dresser. The room was very clean and the bathroom clean as well. The jacuzzi worked great. This is a larger property with multiple buildings. Motel style, you can park right in front of your room. Our building was nearest to the swimming pool which is enclosed in a glass structure. We were in there for hours. The location is at the North end of the strip and a short walk to the shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay and have zero complaints."
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lake George
"The hotel was very clean as well as the room. Breakfast was good. We just booked this hotel for the kiddie pool. The kiddie pool was shut down as well as the hot tub."
Super 8 by Wyndham Lake George/Downtown
"The place is very nice. The people are very helpful. The staff was wonderful. The rooms are clean. I recommend this place."
Courtyard by Marriott Lake George
"The room had a beautiful view at the lake especially from the balcony."
Howard Johnson by Wyndham Lake George
"Comfortable bed with great pillows! Clean room! Great location! Only hitch, not enough hooks in bathroom."
Fort William Henry Hotel and Conference Center
"Everything was good except the chef we love there we were told quit three weeks ago. The food we all had was over cooked. Chicken Marsala had no mushrooms. Disappointed."

- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: For your Lake George trip, you may discover attractive offers by exploring DealsOpens in a new window on Hotels.com, where discounted hotel options could be found. If your plans are spontaneous, consider browsing the Last-Minute Deals section, which may present savings on accommodations as your travel date nears. Moreover, the app's Smart Shopping feature serves as a comparison tool that enables travellers to review hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you’re more likely to spot favourable options before booking your getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your travel dates may help you find a more affordable stay in a Lake George hotel. For those in search of distinctive accommodations, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised experience and can sometimes offer better value. When you book through Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price is on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could lead to a more favourable deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive, but thanks to Lake George's excellent public transport links, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that remains well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often great value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
