The room was okay, very dated and felt like it hadn't been cleaned well. There was hair on the tatami. You also have to set your own futon. The only bathing facility is the onsen, which was lovely but could be an issue if you have tattoos. Front desk had an English speaker but using Japanese is easiest.

As a North American traveler, you need to make sure you select a western room that has a shower. Some of the rooms do not have a shower and you need to use the baths. This is a problem if you have a morning flight as the bath not open early enough. It is also a problem if you think you can shower in your own room.
