"The location was good and within an easy walk from West Gate. Parking was plentiful and they let me park there several hours before official check-in time. Breakfast was good and staff was friendly. The shower controls were different from any I had experienced so had to be careful not to scald myself. I asked the desk staff how to work it but she was not helpful."

"The room and bathroom were clean and attractive. The rugs are looking rather tired and worn. Lots of thick large towels provided. But not enough surfaces/hooks in the bathroom for toiletries, etc. Staff was extremely polite and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a decent variety of hot and cold options. You could also order off the breakfast menu."

"Quirky environment, but pleasing. Very limited view of cathedral despite advertising room had a view. Very handy for visit to cathedral and view city. Breakfast room overlooks historic city centre. Car access to hotel through barriers somewhat tedious as was "not on site" parking. Overall totally enjoyable stay"

"Good in almost every respect except for the most critical element: the bed was rock hard and the pillows were uncomfortable and unsupportive. Consequently, I suffered from a very poor night's sleep. I've stayed here many times in the past but not particularly recently. So perhaps they've changed the matresses and bedding since I was last here, or I've been unlucky with this 4th floor room. Gym was useful. Breakfast is included and decent."

"Room and linen were clean. Building overall is old and rooms basic with aged furniture in basic repair. Sink was so small it was barely usable shower was ok just. Most annoying was the mascerrating toilets in the building which made a terrible racket every time flushed so from 0600 when people started getting up all you can hear is mechanical grinding. Checkin was prompt and friendly Use this location for a few nights if you are going you be out late and up early, needing a clean bed after a late night. It's a cost effective solution just off the high street."

"We stayed in one of the beautiful, cosy stream huts. Everything was comfortable and clean, and the thoughtful touches were greatly appreciated. The log burner added to the experience too."
