Cathedral Gate Hotel
"Хороший отель было жарко не было кондиционера хотя предоставили фан а так было отлично"
The Falstaff Hotel
"The rooms are in historic buildings adjacent to the main hotel so they can be stuffy as expected but there was a fan provided which helped. Thankfully temperatures were only as high as the mid 20s when we stayed, but there is no AC so bear that in mind if that's something you're used to having. The main building itself is beautiful to look at, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was excellent . They also have happy hour for residents between 6 and 7 with free cheese! That was a lovely touch; the cocktails weren't bad at all either. It's close to Cafe de Soleil which I recommend you go to if you do stay here, I think you'll get a free dessert there if you book a table there through the hotel. Overall, we had a great stay - the location was amazing and the room was comfortable."
Hampton by Hilton Canterbury
"Everything good except for a noisy chaotic breakfast area. The hotel needs to rethink the traffic flow situation."
The Bat and Ball
"Lovely hotel and great staff! My partner left some clothes behind and they sent them by mail, so pleased. We are definitely coming back"
Canterbury Hotel
"Having parking was great. Staff was very kind and helpful. The suite was great. Lots of room."
Best Western Abbots Barton Hotel
"Overall the very pleasant stay, I did find a few beer bottle caps under the bed upon arrival. But the facilities and food was excellent."
ABode Canterbury
"I grew up in Canterbury and while I live in New York, I visit many times a year to see friends and family and have stayed at many different hotels but after staying here a few years ago, I look nowhere else. It’s central location is second to none, the ornate and wonderfully maintained interior character of the lobby, stairways, bar, restaurant, hallways and of course the rooms is meticulous. From the front desk to the house keeping staff, everyone is extremely helpful, courteous and polite with a professionalism they clearly take pride in upholding. The rooms are always very clean, wonderfully decorated, very comfortable and provide all the amenities you could want when traveling. I have stayed here through freezing cold winters and blisteringly hot summers yet the rooms never fail to efficiently maintain an exceptionally comfortable temperature. I cannot recommend staying here highly enough, and very much look forward to my next visit in a few weeks!"
Canterbury Cathedral Lodge
"If you want to spend extra time on the cathedral grounds - this is where you should stay. The breakfast was outstanding. The room was a bit small - sort of like a dormitory, but it was very nicely decorated and clean. The only amenity is soap, so you will want to bring your own shampoo and conditioner and toiletries."
Holiday Inn Express Canterbury by IHG
"Perfect. Will use again when travelling on Le Shuttle."

4 tips for savvy savings when booking a hotel in Canterbury
- Book for the cheapest times: The most budget-friendly time to visit Canterbury is from January to March, when hotel prices tend to be lower. For those looking to explore the city’s rich history and culture, a stay of at least 2 to 3 days is recommended. During this time, visitors can discover iconic landmarks such as the stunning cathedral and various historical museums, as well as charming churches and art venues. The friendly atmosphere, quaint cafes, and inviting bars also contribute to an experience that offers great value for money, making it an ideal destination for travellers on a budget.
- Look for last-minute deals on Hotels.com: To uncover last-minute deals for hotels in Canterbury, start by exploring the DealsOpens in a new window or Last-Minute Deals sections on Hotels.com, where you may discover discounted rates as your travel date approaches. Enabling email alerts or push notifications from Hotels.com could keep you informed about flash sales and special promotions, helping you seize opportunities to save. Additionally, the Smart Shopping feature within the app allows you to compare hotel prices and amenities, ensuring you're informed of any price drops or availability changes, making it easier to book your last-minute getaway.
- Be flexible with dates: Prices may fluctuate depending on factors such as the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year, so being flexible with your dates could help you save on your stay at a Canterbury hotel. If you are interested in a more distinctive experience, boutique hotels may offer a more personalised touch and, on occasion, better value. When you book with Hotels.com, we will inform you if the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If it appears to be higher, we might suggest more affordable dates to help you potentially secure a better deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels situated near the city centre generally tend to be more expensive; however, with Canterbury's superb public transport connections, you may discover a more affordable independent hotel a bit further out that is still well connected. For those keen to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money to be found. Opting for these alternative destinations could provide a more authentic and budget-friendly experience.
