Kayak the Wailua River where hidden waterfalls reward those willing to paddle beyond the tour boats. The Coconut Marketplace offers local crafts that somehow avoid tourist-trap territory, while food trucks serve poke that makes mainland versions seem like sad imitations. Ke Ala Hele Makalae path hugs the coastline, revealing secret coves where monk seals occasionally sunbathe with impressive indifference. Kealia Beach attracts surfers who've escaped Oahu's crowds, while Fuji Beach (locals call it 'Baby Beach') offers protected swimming when winter swells pound the shore. Ho'opi'i Falls requires a muddy hike that keeps away the flip-flop crowd, delivering twin cascades that look suspiciously like film backdrops – because they are, having appeared in countless films.
"My wife and i enjoyed our stay at your hotel. It was clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed my ocean front view. Thank you all for a pleasant experience. Until next time take care. "
"This was our first time staying on the east shore and it was a great experience overall. Service was good but the building and amenities could use some updating.
We stayed for a week over the thanksgiving holiday in a king suite with ocean views and the location was a great bouncing off point for daily activities.
The staff are super friendly, helpful, and sweet. They made our stay welcoming and seemed on top of everything. We went to the pool every day and ate at a couple of the restaurants on site. Moa Moa was better than the Crooked Surf IMHO and we only ate there out of convenience. I much prefer dining off site at one of the local restaurants.
My (and my husband agrees) biggest complaints for our stay were 1. AC unit was super loud and the thermostat didn’t seem to work properly. If we left it on overnight, it would wake us up every time the fan turned on and we’d be freezing. We tried turning off the AC and enjoying the ocean breeze but then I’d get too hot. We ended up leaving one door partially open with the AC unit on and thankfully the sound of the waves mostly drowned out the loud AC. 2. the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The bed felt a bit lumpy and too soft for my preference. The pillow filling redistributed unevenly every night and wasn’t the most comfortable. I think most people wouldn’t notice if you’re only staying a couple of nights but we stayed for a week and were very excited for our own bed by the end of the trip. "
"It was a wonderful place to stay. The room was clean. The view was spectacular! And the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Helped us with a cooler, snorkel gear and suggestions on where to go. I would definitely recommend this place! "
