Charged 79 euro for breakfasts we didn't have
We stayed for a couple of nights at the Mercure. The room was fine (although we had booked a non smoking and they put us into a smoking room so bad we were coughing. After asking to change they told us it smelt fine, but did put us in another room). Wifi good, view was nice and rooftop terrace was great however they sent an invoice for 4 breakfasts for 79 euro. We didn't eat breakfast at the restaurant and despite emailing the hotel to advise this, our credit card has now been charged. Because of this I wouldn't recommend staying there - you don't know how much extra you'll be charged.

J'adore bordeaux
Great location, great having breakfast on the 7th floor overlooking views of Bordeaux however breakfast itself is not a great choice. Its spread out on different tables to make it look like a big choice!

ideal for walking to centre clean, quiet, helpful management; sorted problem with air condition, arranged taxi to station. Loved Bordeaux - vibrant and beautiful city excellent visit to St Emilion organised by Tourist Office Don't miss Ecole du vin and Cite du Vin experiences if you like wine!

Great location, breakfast and staff
Great location and super hotel, the view from the 7th floor, where you have breakfast which is amazing, is fantastic. The staff were really friendly, efficient and helpful, we will definitely be back.

Good location but not a 4-Star
The location is superb but the service could have been better. While the reception staff were generally friendly they were not very helpful. On arrival we asked about wine tours and they did not bother to tell us more but just asked us to go to the tourist Centre. We ordered a taxi for dinner at 8pm and apparently they had forgotten to do so and called only when we chased. They called a taxi which ripped us off and charged more than 3 times of the normal fare. We told the hotel the next day and asked them to follow up as apparently they knew which company as it is an ordered taxi. They did not tell us if they had taken any follow up action. Finally we wanted to borrow an umbrella as it was raining heavily and they told us they didn’t have any to lend. So definitely not a four star hotel.

Fair 4.0
Deeply disappointing and unprofessional.
Disappointed. Very. Six nights for a rest. Three with a friend in a twin room. Beds very comfortable, room adequately quiet (bar air-conditioning fans) and spacious. However much to be desired. In a four star hotel I'm used to having a dressing gown and slippers, ceramic not paper cups for coffee, two bottles of complimentary water as it's a twin room, somewhere I can put my baggage on so it's not on the floor, two towel rails in the bathroom so two people's towels can be dry for the next day. None were present. The staff seemed to not believe we were guests, twice rather aggressively challenging us as we entered the hotel and made for the lift. I understand their need to protect the hotel, however politely is better than aggressively. The staff were often arrogant and if contradicted, didn't react well. For some reason the bedroom door didn't open. I had to return to reception to recalibrate the key. This didn't work so I had to go back! The receptionist came with me. Her words upon realising there was a fault were the equivalent of: 'oh you're right, it's faulty' Unacceptable. The fault returned after a repair. No-one apologised or offered a change of room or similar. These are the fundamental issues. I emailed them to the company. I have had no reply.

More to Bordeaux than delicious wines
Ideal hotel close to the centre if you need a base for exploring. Tasty breakfast with great views across Bordeaux. Bordeaux is a fantastic city, really vibrant with a mix of young and old, families and students, all enjoying the cafes, food and wine, which are in abundance!!
