Learn more about Panajachel
Along the shores of Lake Atitlán, a vibrant marketplace unfolds on Calle Santander where haggling for handwoven textiles becomes an art form. Boats bob at wooden docks, ready to ferry visitors to traditional Mayan villages scattered around the volcanic caldera. Casa Cakchiquel Arts Centre showcases local creativity while the Municipal Market offers a sensory explosion of colours and aromas. Take a day trip to the ancient stone temples of Iximche Mayan Ruins or expand your understanding at the Azul Maya Archaeological Museum. When the afternoon sun glints across the water, locals gather at lakeside cafés where time slows to match the gentle lapping of waves against the shore.

Porta Hotel del Lago
"Close to the lancha pier and street vendors. The swimming pool was nice but could have been cleaned a little better. Breakfast was good."
Posada de Don Rodrigo Panajachel
"El servicio impecable y la limpieza excelente"
Jenna's River Bed & Breakfast
"Jenna's River has a lot of things going for it. The staff was very friendly and super helpful. They were able to help with arranging transportation and tours in the area - just email them for information. They arranged a private boat for the day and an English tuk tuk tour to Santa Catarina which was very good. Their tuk tuk driver was always available to take us to Panajachel town (and it was easy to get another one off the street to take us back, which was not a problem). The room was very large and the beds were comfortable. It was clean as well. There was plenty of space for storing all your stuff. The view from the private porch was amazing. The shower was hot and had good water pressure. Breakfast was included and had plenty of choices available on top of the set menu. There is a nice bar area with drinks for during the day or before dinner. There are some dogs that bark during the night that made it hard to get to sleep one night, but I suspect that may be common for most of Lake Atitlan area. The biggest note is maybe that the bathroom area was not very private in our room (a large yurt with 2 bedrooms with one bedroom having the only bathroom ensuite). The swinging doors were textured glass that were quite see through with the lights on and every noise could be heard. This may not be to everyone's liking and something to be aware of - I don't know if every room is like this."
Perla Maya Hotel
"Friendly staff!"
Socialtel Atitlan
"This place was great! The front desk staff was very helpful and the service was exceptional. I don’t know if I was in the off season but not a lot of people went to the social events which was a shame since they provided really fun activities. I would definitely book with them again :)"
Regis Hotel & Spa

Hotel Panajachel Oasis
