Learn more about Jekyll Island
Cycling along 20 miles of bike paths reveals a barrier island where nature and history coexist in remarkable harmony. Driftwood Beach presents a hauntingly beautiful sculpture garden of weathered trees against the Atlantic. The 'cottages' of the Jekyll Island Club tell tales of Vanderbilts and Rockefellers who once wintered here in what they modestly called their holiday homes. Sea turtles nest on protected shores while dolphins play offshore. Summer Waves water park offers splashy fun when beach time needs variety. The Jekyll Island Historic District showcases Gilded Age extravagance, while wildlife thrives in salt marshes just beyond. For the best experience, rent a bike – the island reveals its secrets most generously at pedaling pace.

Residence Inn by Marriott Jekyll Island
"The room layout was great and it was fairly quiet besides the fridge that was a little noisy. The ice maker on the 4th floor was the loudest ice maker I have ever heard. Thankfully, we could not hear it from our room that was around the corner from it. Our bed was a little too firm for our tastes but we slept ok. The light above the built-in dresser didn't work. The floors in the lobby and by the elevators were dirty. The restaurant didn't have a lot of choices and the food tasted very average. The property, pool and location were all fantastic. The free bike rentals were good but the bikes need some work. The brakes didn't work well and some of the bikes had really worn tires. Overall, it was a good 1 night trip to the beach but these issues above need attention to make this beautiful hotel a much better experience."

"The building and rooms are old. Although our king room was spacious, the bathrooms are put together weird. The toilet and shower are in their own room. To turn shower on, you can't really access because of the toilet. On my first attempt, I got soaked. Then I somehow maneuvered the shower door to get to back of shower, and I couldn't reach it the shower head which was pushed to side. The water was not hot first night and better second day cuz we showered in afternoon. Sink water included. Enough for that. We had a functional AC but it made a funny noise. Ceiling fan was lovely to have but didn't work first nite. Kudos to John, maintenance man who came second day and got it working. The pool was nice, everything was clean. Desk staff were friendly. It would have been nice to know more about location of elevator and our room as we came in the dark. We had to repark our vehicle after we got out and looked around. The paper map that was shared with us needs to come with us on checkout, with our location identified. The free breakfast was a nice add on but just average- scrambled eggs and a dry sausage patty, replaced with fried salami pieces next day. The breakfast staff was friendly. We stayed here 2 yrs ago. The location is fabulous. We enjoyed our stay!!"
Courtyard by Marriott Jekyll Island
"The most relaxing vacation possible."
Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Jekyll Island
"The breakfast was good and it varied morning to morning. Unless you are on the 2nd floor there is not a view of the water. The beech is through a walkway and did not see anyone swimming. Was very dark to a accommodate turtle hatching-which was cool! Nice little kitchenette, well stocked."
The Westin Jekyll Island Beach Resort
"Had a fantastic 4 nt. anniversary stay in late August. Room was clean and nice but the ocean view was spectacular. Entire staff was exceptional and the hotel had great amenities. Loved the shuttle service to to anywhere on the island."
Hampton Inn & Suites Jekyll Island
"Clean, friendly staff."
Holiday Inn Resort Jekyll Island by IHG
"While furnishings in room are little outdated, the location and proximity to beach cant be beat. Nice amenities, good service , beautiful space"
